Christmas Decorations At Penang Shopping Malls

Since we are in Butterworth, our friends took us to Sunway Carnival Mall for a look around after our lunch at Ong Cheng Huat Seafood Restaurant. The first thing that caught my eyes were the Christmas decorations.

This view was taken from the floor above.
Looks like a Fairy land theme.
Lots of flowers and butterflies decorations.
Elf house and mushrooms.
There is also a deer.

More flowers and...
Bees too....
After Sunway Carnival Mall, we were taken across the bridge to check into the hotel.
~~~~~
We prefer hawker food for dinner, so our friends suggested going for prawn noodle. The eatery is quite near to the hotel so we walked to avoid searching for parking space. There was a slight drizzle so we were walking with our umbrellas. When we reached, we found the place closed, so we open for the nearby eatery.
We ordered 2 plates of oyster omelette or or chien in Hokkien.
Hubby ordered the above jawa mee but it turned out to be a great disappointment.
Penang lobak which was not up to our expectation.
Penang char koay teow which was quite tasty.
Chicken satay or bbq chicken which turned out to be hard and dry.
The peanut sauce with hardly any peanuts.
This is the first time that we were disappointment with the food we ordered. Surprising, the place was crowded and customers have to wait for tables. It could be that our expectation was too high or the food was not up to our Ipoh taste.
~~~~~
After dinner, we walked with our umbrella to the nearby1st Avenue Mall as it was too early to go back to the hotel. Glad to see more Christmas decorations.

If you are tired, you can sit here and rest awhile.
Santa Claus flying in his sleigh.
Early morning view outside the window at 4:10am.
I was awoken by the sound of TV at 3am. Hubby wanted to watch football but he couldn't find the right channel on the hotel TV. Hubby went back to sleep but I was wide awake by then.
So, to while away the time, I read the news and played games on my hand phone. I managed to get about half an hour of sleep before going down for our morning walk.
An old fashioned door and windows of a house in Penang.

Bring all the tithes into the storehouse
so that there will be food enough in my Temple;
if you do, I will open up the windows of heaven for you and
pour out a blessing so great you won't have room enough to take it in!

King Oyster Mushroom + Fish Paste With Chili Bean Paste

I know we are already in the first week of the New Year but I just want to share a Christmas decoration I saw at Aeon Falim, Ipoh. We were at the mini post office there to renew our car road tax and after that, we walked over to the supermarket to get some foodstuff.

That was when we passed by this decoration.
At least I get to share a Christmas decoration for the year 2021.
Nice and simple decoration.
For snack, I boiled chickpea with salt and water, add in some pandan leaves and extra ginger strips.

Simple home cooked 1 dish dinner.
This is the first time I bought and used this chili bean sauce.
I used the chili bean sauce to cook the above dish.
Ingredients: Fish cake, king oyster mushroom, chopped garlic and ginger, red chilies and chili bean sauce. We had steamed brown rice with this one dish. We had some leftover for the next day's dinner.

For I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love.
Death can't, and life can't. The angels won't,
and all the powers of hell itself cannot keep God's love away.
Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow,
or where we are - high above the sky,
or in the deepest ocean - nothing will ever be able
to separate us from the love of God demonstrated by
our Lord Jesus Christ when he died for us.

Christmas Preparation And Decoration

In spite of the pandemic hanging over us, it cannot stop us from celebrating Christmas. We have about six more weeks to Christmas Day. So, with just six weeks on our hands, let us not waste any more precious time. First, we need to buy Christmas gifts for our love ones and friends. We need to make a list of people and the gifts so as not to leave out any one.

Like all celebration, there has to be decorations of some kind to brighten up the house and place to create the atmosphere. For those of us who have a Christmas tree, it is time to take it out from the store room. Whether you are using a recycled Christmas tree or a brand new one, make sure that you have the big star sitting on the tip of the tree and get some beautiful and colourful twinkle star lights to decorate your tree, house and your compound.

I remember those days when I used to purposely buy a new piece of cloth to cover the Christmas stand and where I placed the presents on top of it. These days, everything is so convenient and easy with the Christmas tree skirt. If you have not seen or heard of a Christmas tree skirt, you can just hop over to xmastwinklestar website to take a look and maybe get one for your tree.

While you are at the site, you may be interested to check out the different types of decorative items such as balloons, wreaths, swags and led candles to add to your shopping list. Coming back to the topic of Christmas tree skirts, I am having a tough time choosing because I have a few favourites. At first, I thought I wanted the one with the Father Christmas but I was also attracted to the reindeer version tree skirt and others. I will need some time to decide whether I want something that is bright and cheerful or settle for the cute reindeers.

Christmas Decorations Aeon Mall Kinta City, Ipoh.

Last week we had dinner with friends and after dinner, we went over to Aeon Mall Kinta City. Shopping was not on our mind, we just want to take a stroll. Saw that the Christmas decoration was up and I took some snapshots of the nice "Jolly Christmass Land" decorations.
Children enjoying the slide on the right.
Children queuing up to use the slide.
 Reindeer and Christmas tree.
Christmas is celebrated by Christians all over the world to remember the birth of Jesus Christ.

They ran to the village and found their way to Mary and Joseph.
And there was the baby, lying in the manger.
The shepherds told everyone what had happened
and what the angel had said to them about this child.
(Luke 2:16-17, The Living Bible-TLB)

All right then, the Lord himself will choose the sign-
a child shall be born to a virgin!
And she shall call him Immanuel (meaning, "God is with us")
(Isaiah 7:14, The Living Bible-TLB)

Buffet Dinner & White Christmas Decorations At Parkson Ipoh Parade

Someone saw and shared a poster through Whatsapp and it got us interested. It said that Weil Hotel will be celebrating its 3rd anniversary on the 3rd of December.
There will be a Food Festival and guests can enjoy a 50% discount for all dining outlets. Plus, we seniors get to enjoy a special rate too. MYR 29 for a normal adult and MYR 24 for a senior adult. We made reservation for 9 people.
 Here we were, seated. Sorry, no food photos for this post because where I was seated, the lighting was too dim to take photos.
 We were among the earlier guests. The chefs were kept busy cooking to replenish the fast disappearing food. Surprisingly, I enjoyed tasting the different types of cakes and sweet desserts.

After dinner, we walked over to Parkson Parade which is just beside Weil Hotel.
 White Christmas decorations at Parkson Parade.
 People were taking we-fies...
 ....and selfies...
 They even put up a big igloo.
 There are also white polar bears and Christmas trees.
 The bears look very lifelike from afar.
 A big Polar bear wearing a Santa Claus cap.
 Kids taking a peek into the igloo.
 Someone is trying to make friends with the polar bear.
 .... more we-fies....
 Polar bear playing Santa Claus.
 Little boy not afraid of polar bear.
 Brave boy even putting his hand into the bear's mouth!
 This is my first post on Christmas decorations for this year.
Ipoh Parkson Parade did a great job putting up these Christmas decorations.
We found another Christmas tree decoration in Parkson Parade.

On a closer look, this Christmas trees is decorated with coloured plastic bags.
Go Green by Leo Clubs.
A glittering reindeer.

The Lord their God will save his people in that day,
as a Shepherd caring for his sheep.
They shall shine in his land as glittering jewels in a crown.
How wonderful and beautiful all shall be!
The abundance of grain and grapes will
make the young men and girls flourish;
they will be radiant with health and happiness.
