Dinner At Restoran WSF 33, Taman Hoover, Ipoh

This was the last Monday of June, last month. 

We set out on our morning walk at about 6:45am.

We finished our walk at about 7:45am.

I watered my plants and we got ready to go out for breakfast with our friends. 

We drove to Gopeng and had rice noodle (lai fun) for breakfast. After breakfast, we had durians at the roadside stall. I didn't take any photo of breakfast and the durians.

But I did take 2 photos of this building of a goldsmith shop.

What attracted me to this building is these designs on the front of the building. After our breakfast and having enjoyed some durians, we drove back to Ipoh and loiter (lepak) in Aeon Big Falim Shopping Mall, Ipoh.

There was a band and singer busking, playing and singing nice oldies.

Later we left for home and rested in our place until it was time for dinner.

Our friends suggested this place for dinner because we were looking forward to enjoy some Chinese fruit rojak after dinner.

Steamed fish with savoury sauce.

4 dishes for 4 people.

 We were disappointed that the Chinese fruit rojak stall was closed and has shifted elsewhere but we don't know where.

Chicken With Pickled Ginger, Nyonya Steamed Fish & Steamed Pork Salted Fish

This was 2 Fridays ago. After morning walk, we drove to Menglembu for breakfast.

Our breakfast at Restoran Meng Meng Kee, Menglembu.

As usual, hubby ordered the above Hor Hee mung bean noodle (glass noodle) and a glass of Chinese tea.

I ordered the above because I don't feel like eating noodle that morning. I requested for the butter and kaya to be served separately.

Some of you might have guessed that I wanted the butter to be served separately for this purpose - that I can put in a little of the butter into my coffee.

Just a little butter will do. Give it a quick stir and enjoy the coffee while it is still hot.

That evening, we went to a new place which a friend recommended for dinner.

We ordered this fried sticky chicken with pickled ginger cubes.

Steamed minced pork with salted fish.

Steamed Tilapia Nyonya style.

Total cost of dinner including rice for 4 people - RM77.00

Will be returning to try the other dishes.

This is one of the routes we take for our morning walk. This wall surrounds a Chinese school in our area. The wall is covered with many Chinese art murals.

Early Dinner At Restoran Wong Sheng, Desa Rishah, Ipoh

This dinner was at Restoran Wong Sheng. We actually wanted to dine at this restaurant the Friday before this but we were disappointed to find it closed. Anyway, we returned the following Friday to find it opened for business. We ordered the following dishes for 6 people.

Steamed pork belly with taro.

Sauteed Milk Cabbage (Nai Pak Choy).

Stewed pork rib with bean curd sheet.

Steamed Tilapia with Nyonya sauce.

Salted egg yolk assorted veggie.

Dinner for 6 people costs RM125.

Heineken Dealcoholised Beer - Pure Malt.

Hubby received 4 cans of the above from a friend.

This is the first time we tasted this drink.

Every time I walked past these plants, I get to enjoy its fragrance.

According to the locals, Concubine Lane was built by mining tycoon Yao Tet Shin for his 3 wives. Each lane was fittingly name Wife Lane, Concubine Lane and First Concubine Lane. While another version of the local tale is that it was also the place where rich men hid their mistresses. Today, Concubine Lane is the most famous lane, having been transformed into a popular hangout with a variety of pop-up stalls selling delicious ice balls, flower shaped cotton candy and more.
