Ipoh Taugeh & Chicken (Nga Choy Kai) For Dinner

We are still in the monsoon season and most mornings we have overcast sky.

Overcast sky at 8:15am.
This pot of Coleus is doing very well.
~~~~~
No home cooking on Independence Day, so we had dinner at "Buntong Nga Choy Kai" which is near to us.
We ordered a small plate of blanched beansprout (nga choy in Cantonese or taugeh in Hokkien).
Poached chicken (small).
Blended ginger to go with the poached chicken.
A bowl of flat rice noodle (koay teow) in clear soup.
Independence Day dinner for 2 people.
Sunset at 7:30pm
Hallelujah!
O servants of Jehovah, praise his name.
Blessed is his name forever and forever.
Praise him from sunrise to sunset!
For he is high above the nations;
his glory is far greater than the heavens.
Beansprout & Chicken At Restoran New Kah Seng, Bercham.
Many times we have heard our friends mentioned this restaurant in Bercham which serves one of Ipoh's iconic food, the famous "Nga Choy Kai" (beansprout and chicken in Cantonese). I found out from my ex-colleague that there is not one but a few restaurants selling the popular Ipoh's beansprout and chicken. Last week, I finally get the opportunity to taste the beansprout and chicken at Restoran New Kah Seng in Bercham, which is next to the AmBank.
A plate of blanched fat and crunchy Ipoh beansprout together with all the different choices of condiments. The blended ginger is a must to go with the chicken.
A plate of blanched chicken for 4 people.
8 fishballs for 4 people.
The beansprout, chicken and fishballs are for 4 people.
Hubby's yellow noodle and flat rice noodle for me
I will love to order just the fish balls with noodle in soup on my next visit.
Food and drinks menu on the wall.
We have ordered and waiting for our food to be served.
If the weather permits, many prefer to sit under the open sky.
Chicken & Beansprout At Restoran Huat Chicken, Ipoh.
It was a Saturday, last month. After taking our friend for a stroll along Concubine Lane at Ipoh old town, we drove straight to Medan Ipoh Bistari (near to the Ipoh Garden Tesco Extra). We wanted to try out the food at this new place called Restoran Huat Chicken.
 We ordered a plate of blanched beansprout.
 Poached Chicken - half a chicken.
 3 bowls of soft and silky flat rice noodles.
 Now you can see the noodles more clearly.
Our lunch for 3 people = MYR 30.70 (approx. 7.64 USD)
 Entrance to Huat Chicken.
 Picture menu on the wall.
 The restaurant is facing Ipoh Garden Tesco Extra.
 After lunch, we sent our friend to the dental clinic for his appointment.
 Later in the evening, we will be taking him out for dinner.
And then he will be away in Singapore for a few days.
In this way they journeyed at the command of the Lord
and stopped where he told them to,
then remained there as long as the Cloud stayed.
If it stayed a long time, then they stayed a long time.
But if it stayed only a few days, then they remained only a few days;
for so the Lord has instructed them.
Chicken & Bean Sprout (Nga Choy Kai) At First Garden, Ipoh
I should have posted this a few months ago but I have totally forgotten about these photos hidden in one of the folders on my desktop. We passed by this area regularly and we noticed a new eatery has just started.
As it is always the case, everyone is curious and wanted to try new food at new places. We came here for our dinner.
A new place selling "nga choy kai" and noodles.
(Taugeh which is mung bean sprouts and chicken with noodles)
  White chopped chicken - Poached chicken with oil and soy sauce.
 Blanched mung bean sprouts with oil, soy sauce, pepper & etc.
 Smashed onion green as a dipping sauce.
Something different from the usual ginger paste.
Flat rice noodle in plain soup - my favourite.
Hubby's favourite - yellow noodle + rice vermicelli.
Opened for business on 2 May 2015.
 But God has opened the eyes of those called to salvation,
both Jews and Gentile, to see that Christ
is the mighty power of God to save them;
Christ Himself is the center of
God's wise plan for their salvation.
Ipoh Bean Sprout (Taugeh) And Chicken Dinner @ Buntong Village,
All of a sudden there was a longing for blanched Ipoh bean sprouts and poached white chicken for dinner. For a long, long time we have not been to town for the famous bean sprout and chicken in Ipoh town because we can get the same bean sprout and chicken in Buntong village. This shop belongs to the sibling of Lou Wong and now the younger generation has taken over the running of the business.
Since there were only two of us, we ordered a small plate of blanched bean sprout. The bean sprout is fresh and crispy.
A small plate of poached white chicken. The meat is smooth and tender.
And a saucer of blended ginger and oil paste to go with the chichen.
A bowl of plain yellow noodle with some bean sprout in clear soup.
A bowl of plain flat noodle in clear soup.
Total cost MYR 17 (approx. 4.76 USD)
Mother and son team. The mother only helps out on holidays and weekends.
Besides bean sprout and chicken, they also serve braised chicken claws and meat balls.
In order to enjoy a relaxed meal, we usually come early to avoid the dinner crowd. The place will be packed on public holidays and weekends.
