Lunch At Ong Cheng Huat Seafood, Butterworth

On Thursday, we took the earliest ETS train to Butterworth (10:30am). It was to be a 2D1N stay in Penang.

We saw this car while we were waiting for our friends at the Butterworth railing station. Coincidentally, we saw this same car at the restaurant.

We ordered a bottle of palm wine or referred to toddy by the locals.

When it is fresh, it is fragrant and sweet.

Fried rice vermicelli or beehoon.

Crispy fried seafood pancakes.

Steamed red snapper.

Mango salad or mango kerabu.

Fried yellow noodle + rice vermicelli.

Fried mantis prawns with sticky sweet sour sauce.

Thanks to our friends for this filling and yummy-licious seafood lunch.

After lunch, our friends took us to the Sunway Carnival Mall, Butterworth to help us digest our lunch before taking us over to Georgetown to check into the hotel.

Train Journey To Kuala Lumpur & Lunch In Petaling Street.

Hubby and I together with some friends have signed up for a Christian teaching conference in Kuala Lumpur. Since we have decided not to drive there, we booked our accommodation with a Christian hostel within walking distance to the conference venue. The first teaching session was on Friday, after lunch.

  So early Friday morning, a friend sent us to the Ipoh railway station to catch the 9 am train to Sentral Kuala Lumpur.

I had the window seat, so my camera was kept busy. In between chatting, playing e-games, I snapped photos with my mobile phone.

Waiting for the LRT train to take us to Pasar Seni.

We alighted from the LRT train and walked to the hostel which is a short distance away.

We passed by the Gospel Hall, Kuala Lumpur.

We checked into our rooms and waited for the rest of our group to reach. We rested awhile before we took a short cut to Petaling Street to look for lunch.

We didn't want to go far because we didn't want to be late for the conference.

We had 1 hour to finish lunch and walk back to the conference hall.

All these roasts were so tempting!

Spicy dry version Ban Mee for me.

Here you can see the flat noodle. It has minced pork, wood fungus strips, fried crispy anchovies and green veggie.

The spicy dried ban mee was served with a bowl of soup which included 2 meat balls and green veggie. This was our first meal in Petaling Street.

They worshiped together regularly at the Temple each day,

met in small groups in homes for Communion,

and shared their meals with great joy and

thankfulness, praising God.

My Maiden KTM-ETS Train Ride From Ipoh To KL Sentral, Kuala Lumpur

The first time I took a train ride was during the year end holidays after I finished my studies. Two of my classmates and I boarded the old fashioned train to Kuala Lumpur to meet up with a friend. I can remembered that it was really a bone shaker ride and we stood about a quarter of the journey before we could find some vacant seats. That was more than 40 over years ago!

Last Friday morning, hubby and I took the KTM-ETS (Electric Train Service) to KL Sentral where our friends will pick us up. It was my maiden ETS train ride since its service started. All these while we prefer to drive our own car whenever we go outstation. This time, it was an exception, because my hubby wanted me to experience the ETS train ride. I was kind of excited and for this journey I used my pension card to purchase the train tickets for hubby and myself. We got a 40% off as pensioners. A very thoughtful friend of mine kindly offered to send us to the station and we boarded the ETS train to Ipoh Railway Station at 10 am. Thank you, Sam!

The coach was clean and comfortable. The air-conditioner was working well and "Mr. Bean" video was played over and over again to entertain the passengers. The ride was smooth and not so bone shaker as the old train. Between Ipoh and KL Sentral, the train stopped at 12 stations but it was a short stop just to pick up passengers or allow passengers to get down from the train.

We needed to cross over to the other side to get into our friends' car.

We can still get to see these scenery because the neighbouring plots are still empty and no houses to block our view.
