Seafood Lunch @ Restoran Laut Villa, Kg Cina (Day Trip To Kg Koh & Lumut #3)

On Saturday afternoon, after reaching Kampung Koh, we went straight to collect the Foo Chow gong pian (biscuits) that we have ordered a day earlier. After that, we drove to Kampung Cina for our seafood lunch.

This was our second visit to Restoran Makanan Laut Villa. The first visit was quite a long time ago and it was a dinner treat by a very close friend. He was formerly from Gopeng but is not residing in Sitiawan. He was the one who recommended Restoran Makanan Laut Villa to us. Instead of going back to our usual place, we came back to Restoran Makanan Laut Villa.
We ordered 2 fresh young coconut drinks for my female friend and I.

Coconut was just right, not too young and not too old.
The coconut flesh was thick but soft enough to eat.

We ordered a bottle of fresh palm toddy (came in a recycled 100 Plus bottle). Hubby's drink - Palm Toddy mixed with Guinness Stout (small bottle).

Friend's hubby and I, we both took pure palm toddy (I only take fresh palm toddy). When palm toddy is fresh and not fermented, it is very fragrant and sweet. But one it started to ferment, it smells and taste awful!

A plate of steamed thick shelled lala (a type of clam).

Friend Egg and Mussel omeletter (Or chean).
This was less oily, crisper than the Penang style.

A plate of deep fried crispy fish (sar chui yu) with sweet sour chili sauce for dipping.
Lastly, 2 big sized mud crabs cooked sweet sour style. Very meaty and fresh! Very tasty too! If I were to eat this at home, I will dip my bread in the sauce. Yummy!
Total cost of lunch for 4 people MYR 172 (47.58 USD)
(incl. 4 white rice, 2 bottle palm toddy to take home).

When we arrived, we were the first customers.

Front portion as we enter, the place very spacious.

It was around 1.30 pm and the place was quite empty. By the time we finished, we saw some cars just arriving.

Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness,
and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air,
over the life stock, over all the earth,
and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

  1. I like the red chairs and tablecloths. They say that so many restaurants use the color red because it stimulates your appetite.

  6. The food looks so different than our Canadian seafood. Of course we have many ethnic restaurants with so many different food .I love seafood a lot so much. My favorite are scallops, crab, lobster, oysters, clams or muscles, salmon and haddock.

I love Gunniss too but seldom drink any.
    Thanks for the adventure.
    Hugs,

  7. I have not tried pure palm toddy before. Is it an alcoholic drink?

    1. If the toddy is fresh, it is not alcoholic, you won't get drunk. If it starts fermenting, the smell and taste is awful.
