Beef Soup Noodle For Dinner At Cheong Kee, (Tong Sui Kai), Jalan Sultan Ekram, Ipoh

Whenever we feel like having Beef Soup Noodle for dinner, we will think of Cheong Kee Beef Noodle. We have been patronizing this stall for many years even before the business shifted to the current place. This place does not need much introduction, as it is well known to many far and near. This place is referred to as the popular "tong sui kai" by the locals.

Last week, we had our dinner at Cheong Kee Beef Noodle Stall, which is stall No. 47 at "Tong Sui Kai" which is situated along Jalan Sultan Ekram. As usual the customers were there and most of the tables were filled. Usually we will have to wait awhile for our orders to come to our table.
A bowl of Beef Soup with meat & tripes pieces (ngau lam), well cooked till soft and tender in very tasty soup.

A bowl of beef balls in soup.

A bowl of beef soup with flat rice noodle, plus special chili sauce.

A bowl of plain flat rice noodle in soup.

A must have - special chili sauce to go with the plain noodle.

This is a family business.

Prices are displayed on the board. Hopefully these prices will not be affected by the GST.

This is a prominent landmark for Tong Sui Kai (Jalan Sultan Ekram).

Another prominent landmark (former Odeon Cinema to Rainbow City).

Jalan Sultan Ekram meets Jalan Sultan Idris Shah junction.
On Saturday night, few nights after our beef soup noodle dinner, we came back to Tong Sui Kai again for a late night supper with our friends/guests. It was almost 11.00 pm when our friends/guests arrived and this was the only place we could think of that was opened for late night supper.

A bowl of curry noodle with pieces of BBQ pork, roasted pork, cockles, etc.

Some fish/meat balls & stuffed ingredients.

A plate of fat noodle or Hokkien mee.
(I forgot to snap a picture of that plate of wanton noodle)

A bowl of mango shaved ice.

A bowl of sweet melon shaved ice.

And finally this is my order. A bowl of mixed fruits shaved ice to be shared.

Awake, north wind! Rise up, south!
Blow on my garden and spread its fragrance all around.
Come into your garden, my love; taste its finest fruits.

  6. The food here looks great especially the soft and tender beef tripe and the mango ice. I have been to this tong sui kai at 5pm but not many stalls open yet. What time do they usually open for business?
