GROWING WHITE FAIRY LILY (ZEPHYRANTHES CANDIDA) IN MY GARDEN.

Today, I will be sharing about my White Fairy Lily plants, Besides White Zephyr Lily, other common names of this plant are White Wind Flowers, Peruvian Swamp Lily, August Rain Lily, White Zephyr Lily, White Rain Lily, Autumn Zephyr Lily, etc. Its scientific name is Zephyranthes Candida.
I received my first White Zephyr Lily in a small clump from my friend's garden. White Zephyr Lily grows well in moist, well drained soil. It can be exposed to full sun or in partial shade.
White Zephyr Lily can be grown in small containers or as front border flowers. Propagation of this plant is through bulbs or seeds. I fertilize them about once in every 2 to 4 weeks.
The leaves are flat, narrow and long about 14 inches (35 to 37 cm) long.

The flowers are white, consisting of 6 white petals which is about 1.75 inches long, with light green centre. Each flower stalk which is about 10 inches long support a single flower. The flower has 6 yellow stamens and a style supports a stigma which is divided into 3 parts.
Cleanse me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;

wash me, and I shall be white than snow.

Let me hear joy and gladness;

let the bones you have crushed rejoice.

Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity.

(Psalm 51:7-9, New International Version-NIV)
