Simple Ready-Cooked Dinner For Two

We never thought of coming to Restaurant First Kwong Chow for dinner until a friend told me of this evening rice stall in this restaurant. It seemed it has been in business for quite some time.
We usually come to this restaurant for its roasted pork in the afternoon.
One evening we came here to try out this rice stall.
Besides selling chicken rice, they also have ready cooked dishes.
These were what we ordered for our dinner, for hubby and I.
Stewed Duck with ginger.
Dry Curry Pork Rib.
And Blanched Iceberg Lettuce.
Plain soup is free, no charge. I can't remember the cost of our dinner but I know it was quite reasonable.

Don't trap yourself by making a rash promise to God
and only later counting the cost.

  11. We eat at a Japanese restaurant here that provides soup and salad free with every order...but it's just so much food! I always want to save my appetite for chicken and rice, so I give the soup and salad to my husband.

  12. I use ginger a lot in my stir fry with pork or chicken. It really add a good taste and I also use garlic a lot. I've never tried duck with ginger.

  18. I would want to try that curry pork rib. The stewed duck with ginger looked good too but the meat must be tender. Too tough too hard to chew. Hehe.

    1. Hello, BJ. We just blanched the lettuce in boiling water for a short while. Take it out and drizzle with garlic oil or olive oil and flavour it with oyster sauce or light soy sauce. Very simple recipe. Have a happy week!
