Dinner At Restoran Heng Ahh Bak Kut Teh, Canning Garden, Ipoh

We have passed by this restaurant many times at night and noticed that the dinner crowd was good. A new signboard has replaced the former one and looks like the business has changed hands. The crowd shows that the food must be good to attract the customers.
Two Fridays ago, together with our friends we decided to pay a visit to this new restaurant.
Restoran Heng Ahh Bak Kut Teh (a corner shop next to the field),
If you are interested, you can refer to the above address and tel. no.
Dipping sauce or condiments.
Light soya sauce with cut chili padi (left).
Chopped raw garlic and dark soya sauce (right).
Stewed pork trotter with dried cuttlefish and dried chili (dry version). We ordered a small portion. A A very tasty and flavourful dish.
Bak Kut Teh or herbal pork soup dish (for 2 people).
A mixed pot consisting of dried herbs, pork rib, pork trotter, innards, canned button mushrooms, bean curd skin.
Blanched lettuce with garlic oil and soy sauce.
3 people wanted to try the onion oil rice and 1 person settled for normal white rice.
I like this onion oil rice and good to eat with the dry stewed dish.
The bill came to MYR 54.40 (approx. 12.65 USD) incl. 6% GST.
We took exactly an hour to enjoy our dinner and by the time we came out it was already dark.

A butterfly from my garden.
A fly on the leaf of the arrow head plant.
Same as above.

This brave frog was showing that it was not afraid of my friend's barking dogs.

Linking to Saturday's Critters.

But when I am afraid, I will put my confidence in you.

Yes, I will trust the promises of God.

And since I am trusting him, what can mere man do to me?

  1. The front of it and the sign are very nice, and do look new. That fly is rather pretty...for a fly! The butterfly is so pretty...maybe a Buckeye? Love the cute toad, it is a big toad, too!

  32. The onion oil really elevates the rice to another level... The stewed pork trotter is called "dry bak kut teh" here, although it is not BKT as I know it. It's delicious too though.
