After our steamboat lunch which I posted yesterday, my friend and I went to old town to check out the newly opened Wisma Chye Hin Indoor Mural Arts. It was mentioned that this is the first and largest indoor mural arts in Ipoh. Wisma Chye Hin is an old 5 storey building and is located at 19, Jalan Sultan Idris Shah, Ipoh.
3-D art piece on the ground floor at the entrance.
Entrance to Wisma Chye Hin Indoor Mural Arts on the left and wall painting of an old fashioned coffee shop on the right.
How about a cup of coffee made in the traditional way?
Admission is free. Welcome to view the indoor mural arts!
Painting of Ipoh old town in the 1920's.
I can still remember the old Sun Cinema on the left of this painting. I have watched a few movies in this old cinema when I newly shifted to Ipoh.
Wall painting on the ground floor.
Looking up to the 1st and 2nd floor from the ground floor.
The paintings are on the walls of the stairway from ground floor to the top.
Old trades of yester-years....
From the left: Weaving of rattan baskets, biscuits making & barber.
Going for a movie at the old Sun Cinema.
Get your movie tickets here at the ticket counters.
Waiting for the curtain to go up in the Sun cinema
From James Bond, Superman, King Kong and Bruce Lee.
Cowboy, comedy and musical.
Dragon dance
We lost count of how many floors we have climbed.
Here ends part 1 of the mural arts found in Wisma Chye Hin.
Come back tomorrow for part 2.
And now, my little children, stay in happy fellowship with the Lord
so that when he comes you will be sure that all is well and
will not have to be ashamed and shrink back from meeting him.

I like the 1st picture of the 3D piece..

ReplyDeleteThank you, Ginny. I am not sure about the entrance fee. The paintings will last longer since not exposed to sun and rain. Have a wonderful day!

DeleteInteresting to have a building just for mural art. Maybe they will charge next time? (Can't figure why it's FOC haha)
ReplyDeleteMost probably, they will be adding new attractions besides the arts. There might be stalls or eateries....will have to wait and see.
Deleteso the whole building is just used for indoor mural art and does not function as anything else?
ReplyDeleteWhen we were there, there was no one to get info. But we do see some empty spaces on each floor....will need to visit to find out...
