YTM Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj
First Prime Minister of Malaysia
On 31st August 1957, the letter of authority that bore the Federation of Malaya as a sovereign and independent country was placed on this table (replica of the Merdeka table) by YTM Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, the first Prime Minister. The proclamation ceremony took place at Merdeka Stadium, Kuala Lumpur.

  1. Looks like you are doing well. Takeaways do not exist here, all restaurants are closed at least until the end of May. Stay safe, Diane

    1. Here restaurants are allowed to open for takeaways from 8am to 8pm but many chose to remain close. We don't know how much longer the MCO will drag on.

    1. When all restaurants are closed, there will be less movement. Here people go out to takeaway food but they have to queue up and observe social distancing.

  15. Love the gardenia and the fern watering needs to be done when the weather is dry. That's what happens here at the moment. We are enjoying the sunshine! My husband is well enough to do gardening and home decorating. A precious scripture. Thank you.

  17. That Gardenia looks very shy but you can see how pure it looks! I love the photo from the National Museum and how the mannequin holding the flag is wearing a Songkok. I bought one at Kuala Lumpur years ago and I wear it on special occasions with my Barong Tagalog. The Barong Tagalog is our national costume and wearing the Songkok with it makes me show my heritage because my Mother's Father is a Tausug from the Sulu Islands.
