Breakfast, Chilled Cheese Cake And Back To Ipoh.

By the time we woke up the next morning in our friends' house, we could smell our friend cooking in the kitchen downstairs. The previous night, I heard my friend mentioned that we will be having porridge for breakfast and I didn't expect her to come up with so many varieties. We were indeed so pampered during our stay there.
 We had fish balls.
I only remembered to take snapshots of the food after everyone has taken the first helping of the food.
 Fried Rice Vermicelli noodle.
The food prepared was enough to feed more than a dozen people.
 Fried Eggs.
A pot of Porridge with the remnants of salted herbal chicken and roast pork.
Boiled corn or maize. I missed out taking a photo of the mango salad or mango kerabu.
This was my first helping of fried noodle, mango kerabu, a fried egg and chili padi or bird's eye chili. Our friend announced that we must finish the food before we leave for home because there will be too much food left for both of them. So we ended up stretching our breakfast till lunch as we chatted until we couldn't eat anymore!
In between breakfast and lunch, our host took out his signature chilled cheese cake from the fridge. We all love chilled cheese cake.
This cheese cake was specially for us.
We just could not resist this delicious cheese cake. Enjoy first and worry about our weight later. We have to put in extra walking rounds when we get home.
My first slice of the delicious Mocha Chocolate Classic Cheese Cake.
Not only were we fed with abundance of tasty food, we were blessed with young fragrance coconuts or pandan coconuts freshly plucked from the tree for us to take home.
The fragrant coconut juice was sweet and very nutritious.
Some photos to add to their Guests Book for sweet memories.
All smiles and a fruitful trip for us all.
Green plastic netting as a fence for the plant nursery.
Thanks for your beautiful hospitality and goodbye until we meet again. After blessing each other with a parting prayer, we got into our car and hit the road to Ipoh.
Thank God for smooth and safe journey all the way back to Ipoh.

Oh, give thanks to the God of heaven,
for his loving-kindness continues forever.

Our Dinner At Prima Cafe, Taiping.

On our first day at our friends' house, we had home cooked lunch and for dinner, we drove to Taiping town. Our friends suggested going to Prima Cafe which we have not been before and we were keen to try out the food there.
We parked our cars in front of the Post Office in Taiping.
While we were waiting for our food, I went outside to take some snapshots.
That is our state "Perak" flag - black, yellow and white.
Government offices.
The District And Land Office (1897).
Taiping Municipal House.
Back to Prima Cafe at the main road (Jalan Taming Sari).
This place serves Halal food (non-pork).
We were the only customers at that time and we need not have to wait long for our food.
Fried Flat noodle (char koay teow)
Sandwich for her hubby.  (No pic to show).
My hubby and our hosts ordered the same item.
Nasi Lemak with Rendang Chicken.
Our hosts recommended this coffee to me.
Orange White Coffee. Very special.
As for me, I ordered Nasi Indonesia.
Thank you, friends for a wonderful dinner.
A closer photo from another angle.
Even before we finished our dinner, there was talk about ice-cream. Since we were full to the brim, someone suggested that we should do some walking first.
We then visited the newly opened Tesco supermarket and ended up buying 2 tubs of ice-cream home. When we reached home, we were ready to enjoy the ice-creams.
Our host bought a tub of green tea ice-cream.
And a tub of 3 in 1 Neapolitan ice-cream.
We chatted as we sat and ate the ice-cream till past mid-night!

"Keep a sharp lookout! For you do not know when I will come,
at evening, at midnight, early dawn or late daybreak.
Don't let me find out sleeping. Watch for my return!
This is my message to you and to everyone else."

My Friends' Garden At Bukit Merah Lake Town Resort.

Our friends have a big garden and some of the plants in my garden were from this garden. This garden is an exchange place for plants. We contribute some of our plants to this garden and we also take away plants from their garden back to our own garden and others did the same thing too. This garden has been blessed and in turn has been a great blessing to other gardens as well.
Many visitors from far and near have visited this home.
As usual, I never fail to take a walk around their garden. These pretty periwinkles greeted me.
Ahhh....these orchids are flowering and my poor orchids at home are struggling to stay alive!
I took this photo from my bedroom window. Very nice shady branches. The leaves look like our local tapioca leaves. I wonder if these leaves are edible.
Bleeding Heart flowers or Nyonya Makan Sireh.
Common names: Amazon Blue, Brazilian Snapdragon.
 Scientific name: Otacanthus caeruleus
Pretty white flowers that look like Jasmine flowers.
Can someone help to identify this plant?
This unknown plant has glossy leaves.

For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects
of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription:
TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.
So you are ignorant of the very thing you worship -
and this is what I am going to proclaim to you.
The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of
heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands.

Walking Exercise And Lovely Lake View.

Continuation of yesterday's post of our visit to our friends' house at Bukit Merah Lake Town Resort.

After our lunch, we continued with our fellowship. Then we had some free time for those who need to nap or have some quiet time of reading or resting.
At about 5 pm, my friend and I went out for a short walk around the area. The others were getting ready for our drive to Taiping for dinner.
As we walked, we enjoyed the Bukit Merah Lake view.
This lake is one of the biggest fresh water lake in Malaysia.
Here ended our evening walk to be continued tomorrow morning. It was time to drive to Taiping for our dinner. I will post about our dinner in tomorrow's post.
I woke up about 6.30 am the next morning. By the time I started my morning walk it was about 8.10 am. The day was a bit hazy. Here are some shots from my morning walk.
Some residential housing over at the other end.
The light haze gave the lake a misty look.
I walked on the tar road and didn't venture out nearer to the lake.
We get to enjoy the lake view as long as the owners have not build their houses on these empty plots of land.
The trees planted on both sides are the Yellow or Golden Penda trees.
Of all the trees planted along the tar road, only one tree was blooming. It has beautiful bright yellow flowers and it is the Yellow or Golden Penda Tree.
From afar, the flowers look like yellow rambutan fruits.
Yellow or Golden Penda Flower buds.
Some of the flowers have faded.
My friend's house is on the far right.
Hopefully, on my next trip I would be able to get closer to the lake to have a better view.
Or maybe join the boat ride operated by the Lake Town resort.
That is the Bukit Merah Lake Town resort. We can see it and hear music coming from the resort.

The following 2 photos are for joining Tuesday's Treasures.
The photos were taken at the Chang Jiang Signature Outlet, Ipoh.
2 pairs of Fiber Woven Slippers from the old days.
An antique bicycle. Some are still in use today.
I remembered I first learned to ride a bicycle using this model. I also remembered the bad fall I had when I pressed the hand brake and I got flung forward and got badly injured on my knees and hands. But that bad fall didn't deterred me from learning to ride a bicycle.

Happy is the man who is so anxious to be with me
that he watches for me daily at my gates,
or waits for me outside my home!
For whoever finds me finds life and wins approval from the Lord.
But the one who misses me has injured himself irreparably.
Those who refuse me show that they love death.
(Proverbs 8:34-36, The Living Bible-TLB)
