Shredded Chicken Noodle, Polo Bun, Economy Rice & Popiah

This was on a Saturday in January this year. As usual, we were ready to start our morning walk. But first, I took a few snapshots of the lovely sunrise.

Sunrise at 7:15am.

Sunrise at 7:25am.
Sunrise at 7:44am.
~~~~~
Our breakfast at Kopitiam Huan He, No. 32, Jalan Ng Weng Hup, Taman Pertama, Ipoh.
Hubby ordered shredded chicken noodle (kai si hor fun).
The boss added chicken liver to the bowl of noodle.
I wanted something light so I ordered 1 plain polo bun (cut into 2).
We shared unsweetened coffee (kopi-c kosong) and Chinese tea.
Home grown pineapple in my garden.
We went back to the same coffee shop for lunch.
We shared a plate of economy mixed rice (chap fun).
From the look of the pineapple, it will be another tiny pineapple.
For dinner, we had popiah at the nearby GP food court.
I forgot what else we ordered because I didn't take any photo.
The pineapple is still green.
Waiting for it to ripen.
Here is another story illustrating what the Kingdom of God is like:
"A farmer sowed his field and went away, and as the days went by,
the seeds grew and grew without his help.
For the soil made the seeds grow. First a leaf blade pushed through,
and later the heads of wheat formed, and finally the grain ripened.
and then the farmer came at once with his sickle and harvested it."
Economy Rice With Roast Duck
Another day with overcast sky with some sunlight. Grateful for washing machine. The spinning process helps the clothes to dry even without the hot sun. The warm air circulating around will dry the hanging clothes. Somehow, I still prefer to dry my clothes under the sun, at least for a few hours because the sunshine and fresh air will make the clothes smell nice, fresh and dry. Plus, sunlight kills bacterial.
We were out of our house by 6:52am.
We started our walk at 6:53am on this particular morning.
Facing Kledang Hill - 7:15am
Outside the nearby school - 7:18am.
Nice to see the sunlit sky - 7:19am.
7:21am
~~~~~
Nothing special, just the usual breakfast so I didn't take any snapshots.
~~~~~
Take away lunch for 2.
Hubby and I love to eat roast duck. There was no queue when I approached the stall selling economy rice or chap fun. I thought there was no more roast duck so I ask the young lady. She replied, "How many to you want?" I uttered, "Huh! How many?" And we both burst out laughing.
Our packet of economy rice consisted of 1 portion white rice, roast duck breast meat, pumpkin and vegetable acar. Economy rice is popular because we can choose and pick the different varieties of dishes for a reasonable price.
Aglaonema (Pink Lady) plants from my garden.
This is a propagated plant from the mother plant and the colour of the leaves are still in the lighter shade.
This is the mother plant and the colour of the leaves are in darker shade. Both are placed under semi shade.
For if my father and mother should abandon me,
you would welcome and comfort me.
What We Ate On One Sunday.
Happy Saturday to you, its Saturday's Critters day! Today's posting is also about what we ate 3 Sundays ago. By the time the Church celebration ended, it was time to go for our lunch. For this particular Sunday, I took my friend to try this economy rice at Restoran Ritzbina, Jalan Bercham, Taman Desa Kencana, Bercham. This place is new to her.
We informed the servers that we both wanted porridge and below were our choices to go with our porridge. With so many yummy varieties, it is not easy to decide what we wanted.
My friend's choices - (from left) stir fried kai lan, bitter gourd with pork, okra with prawn paste and half a salted egg.
My choices - stewed pig trotter, lotus roots with fermented tofu & steamed taro root with pork belly.
These were our lunch for 2 people. 2 bowls of plain white rice porridge, 2 bowls of soup (self-service) and the items we have chosen.
As the Scripture express it,
"See, I am sending Christ to be the carefully chosen,
precious Cornerstone of my church,
and I will never disappoint those who trust in him."
(1 Peter 2:6, The Living Bible-TLB)
Found this serious and good looking cat under a car.
My hairdresser's pet, Fido.
I just realized that the cat and Fido did the same pose!
And below was our simple dinner at the hawker centre.
Stir fried kai lan with minced pork.
Sweet sour pig trotter with white radish.
A bowl of soup - Dehydrated veggie with pork ribs.
These are simple, yet satisfying meals.
Sunday "Chap Fun" Lunch At Restoran Ritzbina, Bercham.
Yesterday was a Sunday. After church celebration service, hubby and I needed to visit a friend in Bercham. We decided to have "chap fun" or "economy rice" at Restoran Ritzbina Sdn. Bhd., Bercham before meeting our friend. Her church celebration service ended very much later than ours.
We used to joke about "chap fun" or "economy rice". We called it "tok tok fun" or "point, point rice" because we just point to the dishes of our choice and the server will dish them onto the plate.
 Hubby's choice - white rice with steamed minced meat, stir fry long beans and black vinegar pig trotter.
 My choice - Deep fried drumstick, pickled veggie salad (acar) & a vegetarian dish.
 And a bowl of white rice porridge. Soup is free,
Total cost of our lunch - about MYR 11.00 (approx. 2.68 USD)
Restoran Ritzbina Sdn. Bhd., Jalan Bercham, Taman Desa Kencana, Bercham.
I apologize for the reflection - took this shot through the windscreen.
On our way home.....
O God, help the king to judge as you would,
and help his son to walk in godliness.
Help him to give justice to your people, even to the poor.
May the mountains and hills flourish in prosperity
because of his good reign. Help him to defend the
poor and needy and to crush their oppressors.
(Psalm 72:1-4, The Living Bible-TLB)
Drunken Chicken & Spicy Pig's Stomach Noodles In Ipoh.
2 Fridays ago, we work up to a beautiful morning. We finished our walking exercise at about 7.30 am. The following sunrise photos were taken from a moving car on our way for our breakfast.
 Thanking God for good health.
Thanking God for life.
Thanking God for eyes to see His beautiful creation.
Thanking God for family and friends and His providence.
You (God) gave me life and showed me kindness,
and in your providence watched over my spirit.
(Job 10:12, NIV)
That Friday morning, we decided to have our breakfast here at Restoran Xin Xiang Er Nong, Ipoh. It is a corner shop located at the cross junction where Jalan Tokong and Jalan Foo Eng Lin meets.
 Drunken chicken noodle (#2) for me.
 Pig's stomach noodle (#4) for hubby.
 Ordered these 2 dumplings (sui kow) from the next stall (Pan Mee stall).
 My Drunken Chicken Noodle (misua - soft wheat noodle).
I can taste the wine in the soup.
(Drunken chicken soup, misua noodle, green veg, wood fungus. etc.)Pig's Stomach Noodle (rice vermicelli). Tasted spicy with peppercorn.
Just could not resist this miniature windmill in the plant nursery. We were there to buy a few packets of garden soil.
 After all the work in the garden and in the house, I had worked up a good appetite for my dinner.
 Hubby's plain looking dinner but he liked it.  We bought our dinner from the economy rice shop.
Sharing this sunset shot which I took from inside a moving van.
~ Wishing you a Blessed Sunday ~
