Wine Chicken Noodle & Home Cooked Home Grown Edibles

Even though the weather is warm, it did not deter people from coming out for their daily exercises in the early morning.
Morning sky at 7:30 am
This group gathers twice a week for their Praise Dance exercise.
Here is another group carrying out their exercise.
We met some friends at the recreational park and from there, we continued with our fellowship by having breakfast together. The chosen venue for breakfast that morning was Restoran Hao Hao in Menglembu.
Wine Chicken Noodle with egg and wood fungus.
This is my favourite choice whenever I am at Restoran Hao Hao.
My hearty breakfast completed with a cup of coffee.
On the way home we bought 2 big sized curry puffs to keep for lunch.
These two pale green coloured bitter gourds will turn to pearl white bitter gourds just like the one shown in the next picture.
This white bitter gourd has a more crunchier texture than the common green bitter gourd.
This was what I harvested that morning.
White bitter gourds, purple eggplant, white eggplants, some chilies, and some long beans.

Since the weather has been very warm for the past few weeks, here are some of my simple home cooked dishes using vegetables harvested from my garden. With plentiful harvest, I have no excuse not to cook.
Lightly steamed red and green okras drizzled with roasted sesame dressing.
White bitter gourd cooked with beef slices.
Angled luffa cooked with chopped garlic, 1 salted egg and 1 fresh egg.
White bitter gourd cooked with chopped garlic, dried prawns and salted black beans.

Some treasures (with information) found at the National Museum.
Model of the Portuguese ship "Flor De La Mar".
The "Flor De La Mar" was a ship of the Portuguese armada that led the attack of Malacca in 1511. It was loaded to the brim with looted treasures from Malacca along with three other ships, namely the Enxobregas, Trinidade and Jong Jawa left Malacca, was on its way back to Goa. It was part of a fleet of ships set sail for Portugal under Alfonso de Albuquerque on 20th January 1512 after he conquered the Malaccan city as part of the Portuguese Empire. After 6 days at sea, however, the Flor De La Mar was struck by disaster and sank in the Aru Straits, taking down with it the riches of the Malaccan Empire. Till today the existence of its treasure remains a mystery.
Malacca was administered by a captain of the Fort who reported to the Viceroy of Goa who, in turn, reported to the King of Portugal. The Captain of the Fort was assisted by the Captain General, Chief Justice, Mayor and Bishop who together managed public affairs, financial and religious matters. The Bendahara, Temenggong and Shahbandar managed all matters related to local population head of head of various communities, or captains, managed matters related to their respective community.

Don't be selfish; don't live to make a good impression on others.
Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourself.
Don't just think about your own affairs,
but be interested in others, too, and in what they are doing.

Yummy Lunches At Lim Ko Pi, Ipoh.

1st Lunch for 2 people.
About 2 months ago, in the middle of December, 2016 hubby and I were driving from Ipoh new town to old town. We hadn't had any lunch yet and we wanted to get something to eat. Just as we were crossing over the bridge to old town, Lim Ko Pi came to my mind. Most of the time, parking is easy as there is a special allocated parking lot for their customers directly opposite the cafe.

I love this. This is worth coming back for.
A piece of Mantao and a small plate of curry gravy for dipping. I love this too.
No pricing for this lunch because I couldn't find the bill.

Breakfast With Friend & A Scenic, Leisure Drive.

I received a call from a friend one evening and she asked for help to adjust her sewing machine again. Her sewing machine went cranky and it got jammed again. Something got stuck and it refused to even budge a stitch! We chose a day where everyone will be free and one Saturday morning we drove to my friend's house. First, we must fill our tummy before we take a look at the sewing machine. We picked our friend from her house and she led us to Restoran Full House, Jalan Pasir Kuning, off Jalan Pasir Puteh, Ipoh.
My bowl of Drunken Chicken Noodle (meesua) in soup. The Drunken Chicken soup was freshly prepared and I requested for extra wine. This is worth coming back for.
I ordered some stuffed items for us to share. I didn't snap photos of others' breakfast because the table was small and crowded.

After breakfast, went back to my friend's house, re-adjusted her sewing machine and got it working again. She was so happy because she could continue with her quilt sewing. We stayed behind for some chit-chatting and after a while it was time to make a move. Hubby had an appointment with his customer.
After meeting his customer, we started our leisure drive around the area. Since I seldom come this way, it is a good chance for me to look around and enjoy the scenery. Direction signage on the fence.
Decorative wavy fence on the road divider.
 Green fencing on the left.
Light traffic and nice weather.
Enjoying the view.
Straight and tall trees - don't know what trees.
Fences on both sides of drain.
Scallop Fence - half brick, half metal.

Since we were in this area, we might as well drive to the airport.

Hubby stopped the car for me to take snapshots.
I wonder if this can still fly.
This car caught my attention when we stopped at a traffic light in town.

Drunken Chicken & Spicy Pig's Stomach Noodles In Ipoh.

2 Fridays ago, we work up to a beautiful morning. We finished our walking exercise at about 7.30 am. The following sunrise photos were taken from a moving car on our way for our breakfast.
 Thanking God for good health.
Thanking God for life.
Thanking God for eyes to see His beautiful creation.
Thanking God for family and friends and His providence.
You (God) gave me life and showed me kindness,
and in your providence watched over my spirit.
(Job 10:12, NIV)
That Friday morning, we decided to have our breakfast here at Restoran Xin Xiang Er Nong, Ipoh. It is a corner shop located at the cross junction where Jalan Tokong and Jalan Foo Eng Lin meets.
Drunken chicken noodle (#2) for me.
Pig's stomach noodle (#4) for hubby.
Ordered these 2 dumplings (sui kow) from the next stall (Pan Mee stall).
My Drunken Chicken Noodle (misua - soft wheat noodle).
I can taste the wine in the soup.
(Drunken chicken soup, misua noodle, green veg, wood fungus. etc.)Pig's Stomach Noodle (rice vermicelli). Tasted spicy with peppercorn.
Just could not resist this miniature windmill in the plant nursery. We were there to buy a few packets of garden soil.
After all the work in the garden and in the house, I had worked up a good appetite for my dinner.
Hubby's plain looking dinner but he liked it.  We bought our dinner from the economy rice shop.
Sharing this sunset shot which I took from inside a moving van.

~ Wishing you a Blessed Sunday ~
