Gulai Lemak Udang (Prawn Curry) & Roasted Pork For Dinner

We had a lovely sunrise on this particular morning.

Lovely pink sunrise.
Took these snapshots on our morning walk.

Beautiful sunrise.
~~~~~
We walked to our regular coffee shop for breakfast.
We shared a bowl of fish noodle.
Polo bun sandwich with ham and fried egg for sharing.
I ordered herbal tea and hubby ordered unsweetened coffee (kopi-C kosong).
~~~~~
After breakfast, we visited an old friend who came back from KL during the Hari Raya weeklong holiday.
We met at a food court near to her place. We ordered cold drinks and our favourite snack. The days pass by so fast and we want to appreciate every moment together.
~~~~~
Home cooked dinner.
Gulai lemak udang or Prawn curry with turmeric and coconut milk. I used belimbing buluh and pineapples. This was suppose to be a one dish dinner.
Just as I was halfway cooking the prawn curry, my neighbour handed over some roasted pork. When the prawn curry was cooked, I handed over a portion to them.
A blessing that we are neighbours.
Ixora flowers from my garden.
It was in a semi shaded place, now we have moved it to an open space without shade.
The LORD himself watches over you!
The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade.
Pickled Vegetable Pork Belly Noodle & Curry Noodle
On this particular morning, we were out early for morning walk.
I had to stop both hubby and myself to take this snapshot. Just the two of us but we had 6 shadows.
For breakfast, I ordered a polo bun sandwiched with a piece of ham and egg.
Figs from my garden.
I have to wrap the figs so that I get a chance to enjoy my own figs. I use recycled plastic bags for wrapping the figs to prevent the birds from eating my figs.
~~~~~
We went out with our friend for lunch. She recommended a place which we haven't been to. The place is Restoran Yat Yat Seng Fei Lo Wu at No.15, Jalan Center Point 2, Center Point, Ipoh.
Hubby ordered their signature curry noodle with prawns, roast pork and shredded chicken. This bowl of curry mee costs RM8.
Both my friend and I ordered this Pickle Veg Pork Belly noodle. She chose flat rice noodle while I chose rice vermicelli. The bowl of noodle came with pork belly slices, pickled veg (hum choy) tomato, lettuce and chilies. Love the sourish broth, very appetizing. This noodle costs RM8:50.
I harvested the above vegetables from my garden for dinner.
Steamed the home grown vegetables and drizzled with garlic oil and oyster and soy sauce.
Finally, we get to finish all the ngoh hiang or lobak from our fridge.
We had plain rice porridge for dinner which I didn't snap photo.

Finishing is better than starting!
Patience is better than pride!
Don't be quick-tempered - that is being a fool.

Shredded Chicken Noodle, Polo Bun, Economy Rice & Popiah

This was on a Saturday in January this year. As usual, we were ready to start our morning walk. But first, I took a few snapshots of the lovely sunrise.

Sunrise at 7:15am.

Sunrise at 7:25am.
Sunrise at 7:44am.
~~~~~
Our breakfast at Kopitiam Huan He, No. 32, Jalan Ng Weng Hup, Taman Pertama, Ipoh.
Hubby ordered shredded chicken noodle (kai si hor fun).
The boss added chicken liver to the bowl of noodle.
I wanted something light so I ordered 1 plain polo bun (cut into 2).
We shared unsweetened coffee (kopi-c kosong) and Chinese tea.
Home grown pineapple in my garden.
We went back to the same coffee shop for lunch.
We shared a plate of economy mixed rice (chap fun).
From the look of the pineapple, it will be another tiny pineapple.
For dinner, we had popiah at the nearby GP food court.
I forgot what else we ordered because I didn't take any photo.
The pineapple is still green.
Waiting for it to ripen.
Here is another story illustrating what the Kingdom of God is like:
"A farmer sowed his field and went away, and as the days went by,
the seeds grew and grew without his help.
For the soil made the seeds grow. First a leaf blade pushed through,
and later the heads of wheat formed, and finally the grain ripened.
and then the farmer came at once with his sickle and harvested it."
Steamed Sweet Lips Fish & Fried Minced Meat Patties
3rd day of Chinese New Year 2022 (3rd of Feb). While the young men were still sleeping, the early risers (hubby and I) went out for our breakfast.
Sunrise at 7:20am
No morning walk for us for the whole week of Chinese New Year celebration.
Sunrise at 7:25am.
We had breakfast at one of our regular coffee shops.
I ordered 1 plain polo bun.
Hubby ordered pre-fried noodle (yee mee) in soup.
~~~~~
Lunch for 4 people.
Sweet Lips Fish from elder son's fishing trip.
I cut the fish into 2 halves. Even half the fish was too much for 4 of us. I steamed the top half and topped with blended ginger and garlic oil.
Beef slices cooked with king oyster mushrooms and fresh shittake mushrooms.
Three dishes including a plate of green (blanched choy fah) for dinner.
~~~~~
Dinner for 3 people.
Younger son going out for dinner with friends.
Minced meat with egg patties. This is something I which I haven't had for a long, long time. This is my childhood's favourite and also I used to cook for my sons.
Cabbage with beef slices.
Added the ladies finger harvested from my garden.
Simple dinner for 3 of us.
This mural shows 2 washer women signed by Kareem.
Dulang washers are usually women who pan for tin sediments at the water's edge.
Linking to Monday Mural.
That, by the way, is what baptism pictures for us:
In baptism we show that we have been saved from death
and doom by the resurrection of Christ;
not because our bodies are washed clean by the water but
because in being baptized we are turning to God and
asking him to cleanse our hearts from sin.
Polo Bun Sandwich And Wonton Noodle
This was the 2nd day I hurt my back while gardening.
No morning walk but I can still sweep the floor and water the plants.
Sunrise at 6:50am.
Hubby went out to the nearby shop for his breakfast and I stayed home. I asked him to get for me a polo bun sandwich for my breakfast.
Home made milo and polo bun sandwich.
The polo bun has a piece of ham and an egg.
~~~~~
Tomato plants from my garden.
One plant has started to flower.
Another one has buds.
~~~~~
Pre-CNY gifts from friends and neighbour.
Hubby's friend came from Sitiawan and gave us this box of Tambun biscuits from Penang.
A friend made glutinous rice cake (nian gao) and gave us 2.
We received the above from our neighbour: A box of mandarin oranges, a can of abalone and a pactket of Chinese sausages.
~~~~~
No cooking that evening, so we eat out.
We had wonton noodle in Buntong village. We have been patronizing this place for 30 over years.
We ordered 2 plates of wonton noodle (dry version) with pork strips, gravy and fat beansprouts.
2 bowls of minced pork wonton dumplings with extra dumplings.
An antique motorcycle at the Gopeng museum.
Took this snapshot when we last visited in 2015.

Charm can be deceptive and beauty doesn't last
but a woman who fears and reverences God shall be greatly praised.
