Stewed Pork Rib With Home Grown Daikon

Actually my home grown daikon or white radish were not due for harvest yet. Due to the rainy season with excess water, I need to harvest all of them because some had started to rot.

Big and small, all were harvest to save them from rotting. These were kept in the fridge until I have decided on what to do with them.
The day started with morning walk. I got bored with noodles so I bought a steamed bun with bbq pork filling and a big fish ball for myself. Hubby took noodle.
My neighbour bought some pork rib for me and I have decided to cook stewed pork rib with the daikon I have harvested.
Ingredients used: Pork rib, daikon, carrot, ginger, garlic, chilies, sour plum sauce, dark sauce, oyster sauce, salt and sugar to taste.
Appetizing dinner for 2 people.
Just 1 dish with steamed brown rice.
When the dish was cooked, I hand over one portion to my neighbour.
I took the above photo in Gopeng town. We have yet to visit this place named "High Street Kopitiam".
I saw the above tricycle in Ipoh old town. It is displayed in a new hotel.

O Lord our God, you brought lasting honor to your name
by removing your people from Egypt in a great display of power.
Lord, do it again!
Though we have sinned so much and are full of wickedness.

Harvesting Home Grown Daikon (White Radish) For Soup

There was a heavy downpour last evening. Even before the rain came, we could hear the sound of howling wind and approaching rain. It sounded scary but when the rain came, it was not as bad as expected. This morning, the ground was still wet and I need not have to water my plants.

Sunrise at 7:40am.
Sunrise with dark cloud at 7:45am.
~~~~~
This small piece of land belongs to my neighbour. Instead of leaving it overgrown with weeds, they allow me to use it as a vegetable patch. It is just outside our house. With this small piece of land, I can grow 3 to 4 types of vegetables.
I have daikon or white radish growing here.
2 days ago, I harvested the above for boiling soup.
I used all the above to boil soup for 4 people, including the 2 young ladies (neighbour).
Ingredients for soup: daikons, red carrots, red dates, gojiberries and soft bones. Hubby and I didn't want any rice or noodle, just a big bowl of soup with the ingredients for dinner. I forgot to take snapshots of the soup.
Currently, hubby is busy with his new projects and one of them is growing Japanese roses.
Finally, my friend came to collect this avocado seedling.
It has been adopted.
Hope it will grow healthy and bear fruits.
And we believers also groan, even though
we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory,
for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering.
We, too, wait with eager hope for the day
when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children,
including the new bodies he has promised us.
Fried Fish, Angled Luffa, Daikon + Carrot Soup
This was 2 Mondays ago. Weather was hot and humid.
Fluffy cottony sky at 7:50am.
For breakfast, we had glutinous rice dumpling and leftover rice porridge.
This was our breakfast. I had mine with unsweetened black coffee and hubby had his with milo.
Angled luffa waiting to be harvested in my garden.
These were the first 2 luffa harvested from the vines. Each luffa measured about 1.5 feet. I will be cooking these luffa for dinner.
Received a comb of banana from our neighbour.
Angled luffa cooked with garlic, dried shrimp and egg.
Fried grouper slice topped with fried ginger strips, garlic oil & soy sauce.
Soup: Daikon, carrot, red dates, goji berries, and pork bones.
Soup is good for hot and humid weather.
Dinner: 3 dishes with steamed rice.
After cooking dinner, I have to take a rest, dry my sweat and take a bath before I can settle down to enjoy my dinner in comfort.
Lord, you know the hopes of humble people.
Surely you will hear their cries and
comfort their hearts by helping them.
You will be with the orphans and all who are oppressed,
so that mere earthly man will terrify them no longer.
Monday's Mish Mash
Yesterday, we woke up to another rainy morning. Hearing the pitter patter of the rain on the awning rood, I went back to sleep and woke up about 7:30 am to prepare breakfast. Initially, I thought of just having bread but later remembered that there were leftover steamed pork ribs and pumpkin from the previous day's dinner.
Breakfast
Noodle with leftover steamed pork rib + Nescafe for hubby
Oat porridge with leftover pumpkin, walnuts and cranberry for me.
Tiny white flowers from a Daikon plant in my garden.
I harvested a pale green bitter gourd from my garden. It is about 6 inches long. Could this be a cross between the green and white bitter gourd plants which I planted side by side? I can see a tinge of yellow, a sign of ripening.
Mid morning sky, on my way out to the grocery store.
When I returned home, my neighbour gave me this papaya.
Dinner on a rainy day.
I checked the fridge to see what I have to clear. I took out an old cucumber to boil soup.
Old cucumber soup with pork ribs and carrot.
I pan fried half a packet of sweet meat.
Simple dinner with steamed rice, comforting on a cold and wet evening.
My bigger than palm size yellow hibiscus.
I took this snapshots under the midday sun.
He died under God's judgment against our sins so that
he could rescue us from constant falling into sin
and make us his very own people,
with cleansed hearts and real enthusiasm
for doing kind things for others.
Harvest Of God's Blessing From My Garden
I have gone missing for a few days and now I am back again from a short get away.
On the morning of the eve of our short getaway, we still went for our early morning walk at the park. The air was cool and fresh after the heavy downpour the previous evening.
 Thank God, the haze has been washed away.
Clear sky and nice sunrise to enjoy.
 We drove to town for breakfast.
 My craving for nasi lemak on a cool morning.
 Mee Jawa is one of hubby's favourite.
 Our unsweetened black coffee.
Let me see what I can harvest from my garden to take along to our short getaway. We planned a hot pot dinner up in the cold highlands.
I harvested 2 daikons (white radish) and
a white and green bitter gourds (bitter melons).
The above green bitter gourd (the first fruit) was from the new plant.
 My friends love basil so I also harvested some sweet basil.
Next, I harvested 4 cucumbers and a single snake bean to add to the above.
The above is the first fruit of my cucumber plant.
Thank God for His abundant blessing on our garden.
That evening, I cooked a simple dinner.
 I cooked half a yam (taro) with dried prawns and kept the other half for the hot pot dinner.
Blanched a small portion beansprouts from the packet I bought for the hot pot.
The following photos from my garden are for linking to various memes.
Cockscomb flowers.
This plant must have self propagated from the seeds left behind by the previous plant.
 Garden snail and slug
 Millipedes
Siamese fighting fishes.
Don't criticize and speak evil about each other, dear brothers.
If you do, you will be fighting against God's law
of loving one another, declaring it is wrong.
But your job is not to decide whether this law is right
or wrong, but to obey it.
