Lunch At Yinzo Kopi, Ipoh Old Town

When we received a call from our friend, we were still full from our heavy breakfast. Anyway, we were happy to meet up with them in Ipoh old town. We reached early so we took some time to check out for any latest development in that area.

Oh yes, there is a new business. Durian business!
We didn't enter, just took some snapshots.
Durians on display.
Not surprisingly if these were branded durians.
A beautiful bike parked in front of a closed shop.
A big dried fish head hanging in front of a shop.
It looks like a shark's head.
I stopped to buy the above dried hawthorn slices from a shop.
I want to make hawthorn tea to drink.
Accompanied our friends for lunch at Yinzo Kopi.
My last visit was in 2019.
The interior is more or less the same as before.
Nice ambience.
Lights and decorations.
Cute sweet wrappers.
Our friend collecting our drinks from the robot server.
My honey lemon tea.
Our friend ordered toast with butter and kaya (coconut jam).
 Thin slices of toast.
Fried tasty beef noodle.

Taste and see that the LORD is good.
Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!

Fried beef noodle, porridge, chicken prawn noodle & millet dumplings

There was one morning when we were looking forward to try the fried noodle at this coffee shop at the junction where Jalan Pasir Pinji and Jalan Prince meet.

As I approached the stall to place my order, I saw that they also serve fried beef noodle. I ordered a plate of fried rice vermicelli with beef slices with egg. While we were eating the noodle, the cook came to ask our review of his fried noodle. Hubby's feedback was that it was nice but a bit salty for his taste. So next time, we will request for less salty because other customers may not have any complain.
A bowl of our favourite shredded chicken and prawn flat rice noodle (kai si hor fun).
We also ordered a small bowl of rice porridge with roasted pork bones for sharing.
This place serves good coffee at RM2.20.
Overall, we enjoyed our breakfast that morning.
This is the name of the coffee shop in Chinese.
~~~~~
Our simple lunch.
A friend blessed us with 2 frozen millet dumpling (bak chang with millet), vacuum packed.
They were slow steamed over medium low heat.
Millet dumpling with leaves wrapping removed.
Millet dumpling with its filling consisting of pork belly, salted egg yolk, & etc.
Thanks to our friend for these tasty dumplings.
~~~~~
Home cooked dinner.
Home grown white bitter gourds from our old bitter gourd vines. The vines have been producing both big and small bitter gourds.
I used all the above bitter gourds to boil soup with pork rib, carrot, goji berries, and red dates.
Omelette with home grown Chinese chives (kuchai).
Chili oil as condiment.
The above was our "no rice" dinner.

Fried Beef Noodle & Beef With White Radish Soup

This was a Saturday morning. Lately, our breakfast has been confined to our regular coffee shops in our area. We only drive out to town when there is something to do and that is when we will have our breakfast in town.

Morning sky at 7:10am
Since we need to attend to something in town, we took the opportunity to drive out to Bercham for our favourite beef noodle. The last time we bought take away because dine-in was not allowed yet and that was a few months ago.
We ordered a bowl of beef soup (ngau lam) and I requested for the coriander leaves to be served separately because hubby doesn't like the smell of the leaves.
Generous serving of coriander leaves or cilantro.
A plate of rice vermicelli fried with beef slices. Sorry, this is only a third of the noodle because both hubby and I had spooned the noodle to our bowls before I realized I haven't taken a snapshot.
The noodle was very well fried and the beef slices still tender.
~~~~~
Dinner for 2 people.
We had a packet of mutton curry which hubby bought from an Indian rice stall in Bercham. This place was recommended by his friend.
Our neighbour blessed us with ABC soup, enough for 2 big bowls.
Hubby and elder son only drink the soup.
 All the soup ingredients went to my bowl. Younger son and I will clear the soup ingredients, so there is no wastage.
Then Jesus took the loaves and gave thanks to God
and passed them out to the people.
Afterwards he did the same with the fish.
And everyone ate until full!
"Now gather the scraps," Jesus told his disciples,
"so that nothing is wasted."
And twelve baskets were filled with the leftovers!
Yummy Beef Noodles For Breakfast In Bercham
After having tasted the beef soup noodles from a stall in Bercham one Saturday morning, we wanted to go back again to the same stall for the beef soup. We found out that there are more yummy-licious food waiting for us to enjoy at #889, Lorong Bercham 4, Bercham (facing Kedai Kopi Kam Heng).
We started from our house at about 8 am.
We were one of the early customers.
We came back for this delicious beef soup.
We ordered 2 bowls for 4 people.
We requested for the coriander leaves not to be added to the soup for hubby's sake. He didn't like the smell of the leaves.
Hubby doesn't mind chopped spring onions for garnishing.
I have the bowl of coriander leaves all to myself.
We ordered a plate of stir fried flat rice noodle (kway teow) with beef slices to share. They were very generous with the beef slices. Last minute remembered to take a photo of the beef noodle in my small bowl.
We were recommended to try these radish balls.
This is our first time tasting these radish balls.
We ordered 4 radish balls for 4 people and it was good.
I saw they also have glutinous rice dumplings so I ordered one for us to share.
This is a very special steamed bbq bun. Suppose to be made from cake flour.
I ordered one to share and it was very light and fluffy.
The filling of the bbq bun was very moist and flavourful.
This is one place worth returning for more of these tasty goodies.
These trials are only to test your faith,
to see whether or not it is strong and pure.
It is being tested as fire tests gold and purifies it -
and your faith is far more precious to God than mere gold;
so if your faith remains strong after
being tried in the test tube of fiery trials, it will bring you
much praise and glory and honor on the day of his return.
