On this particular morning, we had this lovely sunrise.

Garlic Ginger Prawns & Dong Po Yoke For Dinner

This was Friday 28th January. These few days, many will be busy marketing getting ready for the Lunar New Year or Chinese New Year. Those not celebrating also need to buy to stock up because most of the shops will be closed for a few days.

We passed by this seafood stall which is only available on Fridays. Just as expected, the prices of prawns and fishes have shot up. Good thing, I listened to the seller and bought the week earlier at a much lower price than these.
I went to collect my order from the pork seller and saw 2 chopping/cutting boards selling for RM88 per piece. My old chopping board has been with me for many, many years and it is time to replace it with a new one. I treated it by rubbing new cooking oil all over it a few times and let it rest for 2 days before I started to use it.
~~~~~
That afternoon, hubby and I had to go to town.
We stopped at the Stadium food court for lunch.
I ordered a small plate of cuttlefish with kangkong for RM10.
The next day at the food court near our house, hubby ordered a small plate cuttlefish without the kangkong for RM10. Both have their own special peanut sauce.
Blessing From My Neighbour
Early Saturday morning, we drove to Bercham for our favourite beef soup. For 4 people, we ordered 4 bowls of beef soup (ngau lam tong) and 1 plate of fried beef noodle (ngau hor) to share.
Beef soup consisting of beef brisket, tripe, tendon and daikon. So far this is the best ngau lam soup that I have tasted.
2 figs harvested from my garden.
I managed to save my figs from the birds by using a bigger plastic bag.
My neighbour blessed me with the following items.
A comb of green bananas. Will take some time to ripen.
Tiger prawns.
We had arrow root soup and home grown angled luffa with steamed rice.
Let your toots grow down into him and
draw up nourishment from him.
See that you go on growing in the Lord,
and become strong and vigorous
in the truth you were taught.
Let your lives overflow with joy and
thanksgiving for all he has done.
Beef Soup (Ngau Lam) For Breakfast & Simple Home Cooked Dinner
It was a Saturday morning, and our friends wanted to go to Bercham for the beef noodles. Yes, let's go because we love this beef soup too.
Delicious beef soup (with or without noodle) = RM8.00
Altogether, we ordered 3 bowls of beef soup without noodle and 1 bowl with noodle.
Instead of throwing them away, I used them for planting these short snake plants.These jars do not have water drainage holes at the bottom so I have to be careful when watering the plants.If over watered, the roots will rot and the plants will die.
Home Cooked Vegetables And Prawns Curry
Our friend goes to the wholesale market about twice a week. We requested for her to look out for fresh prawns and if the price is reasonable, to buy a kilo for us. Whenever she sees nice, fresh prawns, she will buy for us and will inform us to collect from her stall. This arrangement saves me the trip to the wet market.
Last Wednesday, I took out some of the prawns from the freezer to cook assorted vegetables and prawns curry. I cooked enough for 2 meals and also for blessing our neighbour and our friend who helped us buy the prawns.
Simple lunch for 2 people.
I used whatever vegetables I can find in my fridge such as cabbage, French beans, carrot, cut pineapple, tomatoes, onions, prawns and coconut milk to cook curry with a packet of A1's ready made seafood curry paste.
Hubby went out to meet his friend and he came back with a piece of deep fried chicken he bought from the nearby food court. He didn't even realized that he bought a piece of breast meat. We shared this piece of fried chicken.
Our friend gave us this steamed bun (tai pau). I re-heated it by steaming and had it for lunch.
After lunch, we went to the phone shop to top up my prepaid umobile.
While waiting for the lady at the counter to attend to us, I took snapshot of the decorative items on their display shelves.
