Wonton Noodles & Dumplings For Dinner

It has been raining daily especially in the late afternoon. Sometimes, it will be a short downpour. Sometimes, the rain continued until the wee hours of the next morning.

Sunrise at 6:55am, the morning after a rainy night.
~~~~~
After clearing my garden of weeds and ageing plants, I didn't cook dinner. Hubby went out to buy wonton noodle from Cheong Kee in Buntong village.
Wonton noodle with pork strips and beansprouts (dry version).
Wonton dumplings in soup.
I added the above blanched vegetable (choy fah), topped with crunchy chili oil and soy sauce.
This was our simple dinner that evening.
~~~~~
The following photos and videos were from a dear friend. She saw this cute squirrel on her neighbour's coconut tree one morning. Photos and videos credited to Shirley.
The squirrel was busy biting away at the young coconut.
With its sharp and strong teeth, it bit a hole to get to the tender flesh of the young coconut.
The following are 2 short video showing the squirrel busy at work.

Jesus entered Jericho and made his way through the town.
There was a man there named Zacchaeus.
He was the chief tax collector in the region,
and he had become very rich. He tried to get a look at Jesus,
but he was too short to see over the crowd.
So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree beside the road,
for Jesus was going to pass that way.
When Jesus came by, he looked up at Zacchaeus
and called him by name. "Zacchaeus!" he said.
"Quick, come down! I must be a guest in your home today."

Breakfast At Mama Noodles Cafe & A Cute Squirrel.

It was on a Saturday morning one week ago and the morning sky was very dark. We didn't go for our morning walk because it was still drizzling. I took this sunrise shot at 7.20 am in front of my house.
Our friends will be coming to pick us up at 8.30 am. We were looking forward to our breakfast at Mama Noodles Cafe in Taman Mirindi.

In front of the cafe. our friend caught sight of this small squirrel.
 "Quick, quick, take snapshots of the squirrel!"
"Where, where?" "On the windscreen wiper!"
I was surprised to see this little squirrel so still on the wiper of a parked car. As I moved nearer, it didn't take off.
It was so still, it could be mistaken for a soft toy.
It later scrambled off when the owner came into his car.
3 bowls of red beans + black glutinous rice sweet dessert (tong sui) and hubby's unsweetened black coffee.
We like this because it was not too sweet.
The men ordered this curry pork rib with wanton noodle (dry version).
The women ordered this rice noodle soup (loh shu fun) with pig's stomach, meat balls and deep fried pork. Our friends' first time eating at Mama Noodles Cafe, Taman Mirindi, Ipoh. It was a delightful breakfast outing with friends.

How delightful, and how right!

Going Sauk In Search Of Food.

Friend B mentioned on last Wednesday night about going to Sauk on Thursday morning. But there was no follow up on whether the plan was on or not. On Thursday morning, as usual I woke up and went for my morning walk. I was watering my plants when I received a call from Friend A that Friend B will be coming to pick me at 9.30 am. I looked at the clock and it was 9.10 am and I hurriedly finished watering my plants and rushed to take my bath. I was all ready by the time Friend B reached my house,
 After picking up Friend A from her house, we were on our way to Sauk, travelling on the highway.
 As we neared the toll plaza near Kuala Kangsar, the traffic was moving very slowly.
 One of the workers informed us that one of the toll booth was not in use and we needed to change to another lane.
The time was almost 11 am.
Queuing at the toll plaza.
 Entrance gate with beautiful arch to welcome visitors to Kampung Baru Sauk. Friend B slowed down the car for me to take this photo.
 So kind of Friend B to take us on a short drive to look around.

 A Chinese school in Sauk.

The eatery "Restoran Baru Lau Kai Ikan Sungai" is just on the right side of the entrance gate.
 Saw this big pumpkin hanging from the vine besides the eatery.
While my friends were going through the menu with the lady boss, I took a short walk. I found the police station a short distance away, on the same main road.
I found another eatery which was recommended by my other friends. The eatery was not opened yet and that will have to wait for another foodie trip.
I saw squirrels in a cage in front of a shop, next to the eatery.
 I returned to where my friends were and saw this cute kitty on a plastic chair.
 I was told by the owner that this kitty couldn't "meow" or make any sound.
 She's so friendly. She posed for me in various positions.

This cat kept me entertained while waiting for the food to be served.
 This is the main road of Sauk.
The other side of the main road.

Linking to Saturday's Critters.

And a main road will go through that once-deserted land;
it will be named "The Holy Highway."
No evil-hearted men may walk upon it.
God will walk there with you;
even the most stupid cannot miss the way.
No lion will lurk along its course,
nor will there be any other dangers;
only the redeemed will travel there.
