Since the eve of Chinese New Year 2015, I have been doing a lot of cooking for my own family. My eldest son has already left for the city after lunch to avoid any massive traffic jam. My younger son decided to delay his journey till late night.
My plan for dinner was to just warm up all the left over food, after all there were only 3 of us and I was really tired of cooking. But the 2 men in the house decided to eat out. I was delighted and quickly agreed with their decision because frankly, my lazy bones have taken hold of me.
We went to Restoran Yan Ming which has just reopened for business. Business was good and the tables in the restaurant were all taken. We were seated under the tent which was put up outside, in front of the restaurant. We waited and waited and my son commented that maybe they have forgotten about us.
After about 10 minutes later, a waitress came and placed this dish on our table. Finally, our food has arrived! This time, mama blogger remembered and quickly took a picture of the dish. Suddenly, it dawned on mama blogger that we didn't ordered this dish.
Sweet Sour Pork (Koh Loh Yoke)
The lady boss and a waitress quickly came to our table to apologize for their mistake and took the dish away. It was a good thing only my camera fed on it. Immediately after this, our food started to arrived on our table.
Silky, smooth steamed egg (mixture of 3 types of eggs - normal chicken egg, salted egg and black preserved century egg). This was cooked just right. Thumbs up for this dish.
Crispy skin tofu with chopped preserved raddish.
First time tasted this dish and we all like it.
Hello Nancy, greetings and good wishes.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of mouth watering dishes and the price appears to be reasonable.
I am sure it must have been annoying when the waitress brought the wrong food after they made you wait for so long. Some times even a waiting period of ten minutes appears to be too long when you are hungry and ready to eat.
You had a wonderful time with your sons sharing the excellent food.
The quote at the end of the post is very inspiring.
Best wishes
Thank you, Joseph. greeting and best wishes to you too. I agree with you, can be very annoying but good thing our food came immediately after, all traces of annoyance disappeared...lol.
DeleteNancy, is this the shop which was formerly the one which shifted to Farlim? Aiyah... old grey cells.. forgot the name liow after eating.. hahaha..
ReplyDeleteClaire, no this is not the one. You haven't been to this one..Ha ha...my grey cells older than yours la....hahah
DeleteNancy, hah..hah.. so funny about the first dish that came. But that is my favourite, koh low yoke! Yeah, sometimes I also feel so lazy to cook :D
ReplyDeleteHi Phong Hong, I found that as I grow older, I become more lazy.
DeleteThat happens all the time. But these food! Yum-o!
ReplyDeleteHi SuperLux, yes, these are very yummy food...hahaha.
DeleteMe, lazy most of the time, i hardly cook...
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon, nowadays I too hardly cook except during festive season. Finding every excuse to be lazy hahaha.
DeleteI am the first to agree that no need to cook at home for just 3 persons. Too much effort for too little return. I am surprised that they did not hike up the price for CNY. RM66.80 for 4 dishes with rice and drinks is really a very good price. I like all dishes except for the fatty pork belly.
ReplyDeleteHi Mun, we are pleased with the food & prices of this place. Definitely, will be coming more often.
Deleteglad you enjoyed a dinner out - and hopefully the leftovers could keep.
ReplyDeleteHi Tex, yes, we finally finished the leftovers last night.
DeleteThe steamed egg looks very good. Also the plate that was not yours looks delicious! What a feast!
ReplyDeleteHi Ginny, yes, steamed egg very, very good...silky and smooth. My kids were crazy for the koh loh yoke dish.
