Last Thursday, we received confirmation from a very close friend that they will be coming back to Ipoh for "Ching Ming", a Chinese tomb-sweeping day festival or visiting the graves of their departed loved ones. They will be in Ipoh on Friday and will be staying the night with us. They will then go for the "Ching Ming" duties on Saturday early morning and after that returning to their home on the same day.
We woke up Friday morning, went for our morning walk and after that on our way for breakfast.
Hubby was driving to town and I was busy with my mobile phone camera trying to get a good picture of the bright orange sun.
We passed by this junk yard and the sun was blocked from view but I love this wide spreading branches.
It is never easy trying to focus my camera on something in a moving car.
Finally, I got a clear view of the orange sun.
This is the clearest and nearest that I managed to capture.
I always enjoy sitting on the front passenger seat.
That morning, I was having a game of hide and seek with the rising sun.
One last shot of this beautiful sun before I bored you with too many images. We were looking forward to receive our guests by late afternoon.
There was plenty of time for our guests to settle and rest before we took them out for cool desserts. I forgot to take pictures of our ice cold desserts. Finally evening came and we took our guests out for dinner at this Restoran Yan Ming in Taman Pertama, Ipoh. This picture was taken during the Chinese New Year found in an old folder.
We ordered Sweet Sour Lala or Clams.
Deep fried estaurant own made tofu with chopped preserved salted raddish.
Tender potato leaves stir fried with garlic.
Steamed fish Teochew style.
I was told this is called "kai yoke yu" or "chicken meat fish" in Cantonese.

Dinner for 5 people cost about MYR 75 (approx. 19.27 USD).
After dinner, we visited the nearby night market before returning home.

Wherever he went - in villages and cities, and out on the farms
- they laid the sick in the market plazas and streets,
and begged him to let them at least touch the fringes of his clothes;
and as many as touched him were healed.
