Chinese Tea Leaves Shop - Wood Art Craft Museum, Ipoh

After our lunch at Restoran Kar Heng (in yesterday's post), we drove to Ipoh old town to visit a wood art craft museum at Lorong Bijeh Timah (facing the Jalan Sultan Iskandar bridge). If you are coming from Ipoh new town to the old town, you will be able to see it on your right hand side as you cross the bridge.
This is the first shop (corner) selling Chinese tea leaves. It is interconnected to the second shop which is the wood art craft shop.
On both sides of the tea shop are two water features with fishes in them.
Dried tea leaves on display at the entrance of the shop.
The names of the different types of tea leaves are all written in Mandarin.
Beautiful antique earthenware jars.
Different types of Chinese tea leaves in small earthenware jars on the table.
This antique wooden staircase leads to the 1st floor and from there, you can cross over to the next shop.
Table made from tree trunk.
Chairs made from wood.
Wooden stools.
This looks like a piece of watermelon.
Wood designed by nature.

Wooden table and chairs.
Chairs
Ceiling fans
Antique ceramic wares in wooden meat safes.
A wooden bench that looks like an "alien".
Will continue with more photos from this museum in a later post.

  2. Such an interesting place with an ancient feel. How to sit on the "alien" chair with such an odd shape lol.

    1. The tea leaves are for sale but we didn't buy any because we seldom drink tea.

  9. Some of the wood furniture look modern, don't mind having them. Just not the piece that looks termite-ridden hehe.
