Savoury Glutinous Rice & Tom Yam Rice Vermicelli

It was last Tuesday morning. Both of us overslept and we cancelled our morning walk. We were in the midst of getting ready to go out to town for breakfast when a voice message came through.

It was our friend informing us that she had bought breakfast for us. So we cancelled our plan and went to our friend's stall for breakfast.
She bought 2 packet of savoury glutinous rice with pieces of pork and mushrooms for us. She also bought Nyonya kuih to share with us. We each had a plate of glutinous rice and 2 pieces of kuih for breakfast. We only had to pay for our coffee.
Sunset Bells from my garden.
This cool rainy days are suitable for the Sunset Bells.

In order to finished off whatever remaining tom yam sauce in the bottle, I cooked tom yam rice vermicelli for dinner.
Ingredients used: soaked rice vermicelli and dried prawns, chopped garlic, chives from my garden, and tom yam paste.
We each had a big plate of tom yam rice vermicelli for dinner.
An antique ceramic vase which I saw in one of the cafes in Ipoh old town. It was not for sale, only for display.

But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me,
the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience
as an example for those who would believe in him
and receive eternal life.
(1 Timothy 1:16, New International Version-NIV)

  7. Nice morning sky and pretty sunset bells. I also liked the leaves' shape and texture. Vermicelli is cooked at home when nothing to make or to make something quick to eat. And the vase looks like a great piece of antique.

  11. The ceramic vase looks like those urns that are used to store ashes. What did the shop use it for? Empty?

  12. Your friend is so nice to treat you to tasty food so you only need to pay for drinks. Lo Mai fan with pork is so unusual. I seldom see this combination. Where did she buy it?

  13. The colours of the sunset bells flowers are so vibrant - yellow, orange and red all in one flower. Is it difficult to maintain, this plant?
