There was a heavy downpour in the wee hours of the morning. When we woke up, there was no rain. The weather was nice and cool.
6:55am - starting out on our morning walk.
Quiet street with occasional car or motorcycle passing by.
Our Bauhinia Kockiana in full bloom this season.
Our walk facing west.
Birds also follow sop by social distancing.
A rainbow in the sky.
~~~~~
After morning walk, we drove out to buy breakfast.
We bought 2 sets of Hakka noodle.
Hakka noodle topped with beansprout and minced meat with mushroom.
1 set with stewed pork leg with daikon (savoury plus sourish).
1 set with the normal meat balls and fish cakes in soup.
Purple bougainvillea by the roadside in front of someone's house.
~~~~~
Home cooked dinner
Sauteed broccoli, carrot and home grown cauliflower with garlic and flavoured with oyster sauce and salt to taste.
Steamed minced meat, chicken eggs and salted egg.
This is my childhood's favourite.
Whenever I was not feeling well, mom will make this special dish for me.
Simple yet satisfying dinner for 2 people.
Reflection of sunset from my side garden - 7:35pm.
Slowly turning from orange to pink.
Don't be conceited, sure of your own wisdom.
Instead, trust and reverence the Lord,
and turn your back on evil; when you do that,
then you will be given renewed health and vitality.
(Proverbs 3:7-8, The Living Bible-TLB)
Gorgeous sunset and that bougainvillea is just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Margaret.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Rose.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Einari.
DeleteGreat skies.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jim.
DeleteMy missus used to cook her steamed minced meat so often - hers was darker with the addition of soy sauce - and the serving was HUGE so we had to eat it for days!!! I grew so tired of it but she has not cooked it for a long time - now I'm missing it! Must ask her to cook it one of these days. LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteWhenever I cook something too often, my hubby will get tired and bored with the dish and complain. Lol! So, I try to rotate as best as I can. But with home grown vegetables, I can't help but forced to cook the same vegetable quite often. Sometimes if the harvest is good, I will have to share them with friends and neighbours.
DeleteYour mixed vegetable dish sure looks good! "Homegrown cauliflower" - I'm so jeles! LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Suituapui. Actually, you can try to grow cauliflower too. It is quite easy and very rewarding.
DeleteBeautiful sunset and I love your bauhinia kockiana...really gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angie.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Martha. Have a great weekend too.
DeletePork leg daikon sourish savoury sounds so appetising and full of collagen goodness. Did both of you share share eat the pork skin after scrapping off the fats for its collagen goodness?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mun. I will choose the lean part to eat. Maybe just a little of skin.
DeleteGreetings and Salutations! Even the birds know how to observe social distancing. LOL! Food looks delicious. Amazing sunrise and sunset images. I love the color of Bauhinia Kockiana.
ReplyDeleteThank you and have a wonderful weekend.
DeleteCauliflower from your own garden, so satisfying and tasty! Minced pork with eggs and salted eggs, I like this dish too. Good that it brought back nice childhood memories for you. Nice sunset photo from your side garden. So nice to have a side garden. Your house is bungalow, semi d or corner unit to have a side garden?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mun. My house is a simple single story terrace house. I have a side garden because our house is a corner with a "fire break" piece of land.
DeleteCorner with land at the side is very good already and fetch a high price on the property market compared to intermediate unit without land at the side.
DeleteI am happy with the tiny piece of side land that serves as my mini garden.
Deletebeautiful glow of dusk
ReplyDeleteThank you, Thomas.
DeleteHakka noodle topped with beansprout and minced meat with mushroom sure looks good. Of course it's with noodles that I love. LOL

DeleteI love your rainbow, and the sunset photos. Your bougainvillea photo is superb. Are flowers and blooms a universal cultural thing? Everybody loves flowers, I think. Your food is wonderful as well.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Gosia. Have a great weekend too.
DeleteGreat post. That "rainbow" I think is what we call a Sundog. Sundogs appear when sunlight hits clouds of ice crystals and the ice acts as prisms.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend, Diane
Thank you, Diane. I learned something new today. A sundog rainbow.
DeleteA pretty sky for your walk. Lovely sunset shots, too!
