A morning with gloomy sky but the weather was warm and humid.
7:20am - facing the Kledang Hill.
On the way back, hubby bought a packet of economy fried beehoon with fried egg and sambal from the roadside stall.
That morning, I prefer to eat toast with jam.
After I finished the apricot spread, I opened the orange and ginger spread. I love these because of the fruit chunk in the spread.
That morning I harvest some chives buds.
For lunch, we had noodle (mee sua) with the leftover black chicken herbal soup.
Something was wrong with one of my brinjal or aubergine plant.
The leaves started to turn yellow.
We received 5 steamed buns from our neighbour which we kept in the fridge for the next day's breakfast.
This hibiscus is happy with the warm weather, has been flowering none stop.
I stock checked the instant pastes I had and decided to use the above Indonesian rendang paste to cook rendang using pork and potatoes.
Blanched baby choy sum and home grown chive buds, drizzled with garlic oil, oyster and soy sauce.
Appetizing dinner for 2 people.
Mural on the concrete wall of a nearby Chinese school.
The Chinese character means filial.

Your pork potatoes rendang is so delicious! I would eat it with bread, yummy! I wonder why the leaves turned yellow until you need to discard the whole plant. Do you know? Some sort of plant disease?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mun. I don't know what causes the yellow leaves.
DeleteWow what a huge and beautiful hibiscus flower!
ReplyDeleteYour rendang pork and potatoes dish must be very appetizing. Have a good week ahead Nancy.
Today I am eating minced meat balls porridge and foodpanda food delivery. Will blog about it soon.
Thank you, Libby. We will be having rice porridge again for dinner because the weather is really hot and humid.

DeleteI used to buy St Dalfour blueberry jam. I liked it. But only me in family taking jam so usually take long to finish a bottle. Lol. Rarely have pork rendang or curry. Yours looked yummy. I cook chicken curry for dinner today.
ReplyDeleteI am the only one taking jam. Hubby seldom eats bread and he doesn't like jam.
DeleteI have tried Brahim ready made paste before to cook asam fish. It was nice but I found it too salty. Your rendang turned out very well!
ReplyDeleteThank you, PH. I haven't tried the assam fish.
DeleteMee sua! Yum yummm!!! I bought steamed buns to that day, blogpost on those coming soon. Bought a lot to keep in the fridge, eat for breakfast slowly till they run out.
ReplyDeleteWhenever we feel like eating steamed buns, we can easily buy from the nearby dim sum restaurant on our way back from morning walk. The restaurant is within walking distance from my house.
Delete...thanks for brightening my morning with your hibiscus.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome, Tom.
DeleteBaby choy sum looks good and I bet rather tasty.
ReplyDeleteI eat that brand of jam here but only Blackberry and Raspberry jam, for me it's the best brand.
It is also my favourite brand.

DeleteI've not seen those 2 flavours of St Dalfour jam before.
ReplyDeleteWonder whether my chive plants are still alive. Haven't been home for 2 months already since cannot travel there. :(
Chive plants are quite hardy. Hope they will survive when you are able to get travel home.
