This was 31st August, 2021. We celebrate Merdeka or Independence Day on 31st August every year.
Sunrise at 7:25am.
We didn't go for our morning walk.
We drove out to town to buy breakfast.
On the way back from town.
Top of Kledang Hill covered with low cloud.
We bought dry curry noodle with curry chicken + bbq pork from Kedai Kopi Yee Fatt.
The boss is very generous with the mint leaves.
Hubby doesn't like mint leaves so I happily took all.
I received 1 papaya and a comb of bananas from my neighbour when they returned from their shopping. Our sharing of food is done over the wall.
A good friend stopped by our house to give me 2 red dragon fruits. During this pandemic, we will share by delivering over the gate or at the gate.
Hubby doesn't like dragon fruit but I love it. I finished this big fruit for lunch all by myself.
~~~~~
Simple home cooked dinner.
Minced pork + fish paste + spring onion patties.
I made enough to bless my neighbour with some.
Blanched broccoli.
Drizzled with extra virgin oil and some soy sauce.
This was our no rice dinner.
After an early dinner, I had time to take these sunset shots at 7:25pm.
Ending this post with this lovely evening sky and sunset.
It is better to finish something than to start it.
It is better to be gentle and patient than to be proud and impatient.
(Ecclesiastes 7:8, Easy-to-Read Version-ERV)
The morning sky looks so gorgeous! Love the patties.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angie.
DeleteMinced paste and fish paste? They use that to make the Sibu Foochow siew mai, usually tenggiri, supposed to be nicer than just using meat. Bet I would enjoy your fritters.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Suituapui.
DeleteNever had dragon fruit and the sky is always amazing.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Margaret.
DeleteWonderful sky photos. Lovely food as always, and I like that you share with your neighbours over the gate, it's good to stay safe. Today I am making omelettes with spinach. Have a great day! Valerie
ReplyDeleteOmelettes with spinach sounds great. Have a great day too.
DeleteDragon fruits are so healthy and tastes good too
ReplyDeletethat's why I love it. All your food pics looks so yummy, as always.
Thank you, Francisco.
DeleteNo rice dinner is good cos the patties and broccoli will just fill u up enough for the night. No need to have carbs from the rice. Love red dragon fruits. We are eating one daily. I like to eat dry curry noodles too as long as not too spicy. Your dry curry gravy covered all the noodles so is your noodle egg wanton noodles or yellow noodles or mihun kwayteow?
ReplyDeleteOh, its yellow noodle for hubby and kway teow for me. When it comes to tapau, it is better to have yellow noodle because the kway teow tends to stick together in a lump.
DeleteI am with your husband regarding mint. I like it with some dishes, but not too much, otherwise it becomes overpowering for my taste. Sometimes it's good to skip the rice.
ReplyDeleteThank you, David. We are trying to cut down on rice intake.
DeleteSounds ... nice (?) sharing over the gate.
ReplyDeleteWe had a (very expensive) dragon fruit in 2007. I even took pics.
Good idea with the oil on the broccoli, I´ll keep that in mind!
Good last words, too.
Thank you, Iris.
DeletePlease don´t get me wrong, I also take pics of 10-cent noodles.
ReplyDeleteBut these were so special and like really expensive.
Blogger drives me nuts. If you got this somehow twice.... please delete.
We can't get 10 cents noodles now, though it was available when I was in primary school. Have a wonderful day.
DeleteThose first two shots are stunning.
ReplyDeleteThank you, William.
Delete...the dragon fruit look juicy and delicious. Enjoy your day Nancy.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tom.
Deletevery scenic evening view...
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nux.
DeleteThe patties are my favourite but i must have rice with it, that is just me.
ReplyDeleteNormal days we would want to have rice with the patties.
DeleteSo nice of your neighbour and friend to bless you with fruits.
ReplyDeleteIt is a blessing to have good and generous neighbours.
DeleteYou are blessed with thoughful neigbour and friend. The dragonfruits look juicy.
ReplyDeleteThank you, babYpose.
