I have been missing in action after my last post on the 18th January, 2023 and that is about 4 days. I had to do the last minute spring cleaning because the cleaner woman's daughters were sick and couldn't come. I had to do the last minute shopping plus getting ready some Chinese New Year snacks.
Here is wishing "Happy, Healthy & Prosperous Chinese New Year 2023" to everyone celebrating the Chinese New Year.

Breakfast this morning, Monday 23rd January (2nd day CNY).
Most of the coffee shops in our area are closed for 2 days and only 2 shops are opened and they were overflowing with customers. In the end, we went to a Mamak shop for a relaxed breakfast to avoid the crowd.
I ordered tosai with plain water and hubby ordered roti canai with teh tarik (Forgot to snap photos) Elder son ordered the above roti canai sarang burung with kopi ais. Younger son still sleeping in his room.

You are ready to celebrate!

DeleteA mix and match of home cooked and restaurant bought food is so practical. I did not know that nowadays love letter come with fillings! Must be very addictive. I have heard of roti canai sarang burung and I love those egg yolks!
ReplyDeleteThe mix and match combination helps to lighten my work. I have never heard of roti canai sarang burung until my son ordered it.
DeleteDid you make any of the cookies and snacks yourself? I did blog about mine yesterday. Hey! Nian nian yu yee...where's your fish? My post on my Reunion Dinner coming right up tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteElder son brought back a very big fish. For the 4 of us, it will take a long time to finish the whole fish. We got a nearby shop to cut up the frozen fish for us and we will take time to eat the fish. Too many dishes just for the 4 of us, so we didn't cook fish but kept for another day.
DeleteHappy second day of CNY. I think those love letters are wonderful, Nancy. I suspect the children prefer the red envekopes stuffed with money.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great mural. Happy Year of the Water Rabbit.
You are right. For the children they are more interested in the red packets or angpows stuffed with money.
DeleteThat should be envelopes.
ReplyDeleteHere we called it red packets or angpows.
