Steamed Chinese Pomfret Fish & Sengkuang Cooked With Pork Strips

On Sunday morning, I was bored with noodles so I told hubby I will walk over to the dim sum restaurant near my house to buy the following items back and brought them to our regular coffee shop.

#1 - Baked bbq bun for me.
#2 - Steamed bbq bun for me.
2 fishballs: 1 for me and 1 for hubby.
Hubby bought a piece of Chinese cruller and Chinese fried doughnut for himself (no photo to show). We ordered unsweetened milo for me and Chinese tea for hubby.
Beautiful altar flowers at the church on Sunday.
Home cooked dinner.
To clear the stock from the freezer, I will try to prepare home cooked lunch and dinner for both of us.
Steamed 2 slightly bigger than palm size Chinese pomfrets.
I have 2 more Chinese pomfrets in the freezer for the next meal.
Yam bean and carrot strips cooked with pork strips.
I bought the yam bean thinking I will be making pie tee shells for the new year but it was not to be.
Chinese or Lunar New Year greeting from Eu Yang San Medical hall in Ipoh old town.
The new and the old.
Saw this 90's Classic Barber Shop at the side of a corner shop which was recently renovated.

When someone becomes a Christian,
he becomes a brand new person inside.
He is not the same anymore. A new life has begun!
All these new things are from God who brought us back to himself
through what Christ Jesus did.
And God has given us the privilege of urging everyone
to come into his favor and be reconciled to him.
(2 Corinthians 5:17-18, The Living Bible-TLB)

  1. I like your homemade dinner more...pomfrets look so tasty.

  2. Nice Chinese New Year greeting on the Medical Hall!

  3. I have never seen such buns!
Oh, the 90´s.... "horrible" fashion comes to mind! ;-)

  4. ...thanks Nancy for sharing, Enjoy the New Year.

  6. So delicious. Regine

  7. Hello Nancy:=)
You eat such varied and interesting meals.I love the colourful stain glass window with the dove. Do rabbits symbolise anything for New Year?
    Have a great day.
    All the best.

    1. This year 2023 is the Rabbit year. The rabbit is the symbol of longevity, peace, and prosperity in Chinese Culture and this year is predicted to be a year of hope.

  8. I like the stained glass in the church window <3 And like always so many cool dishes, I will be try so many of them - it always looks so delicious.
Have a blessed week my dear

  9. Oh the food. Oh the food.

Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday, Nancy. ♥

  10. The stained glass window is beautiful. I would eat five of those buns for dinner, yum!

  11. Thank you Nancy. I like to eat dim sum too. The pomfret fish must be expensive. Do they charge by weight for the pomfret fish?

    1. Thank you, Mun. I bought the fish for CNY. Cannot remember how much I paid for the 4 pomfrets.

  12. Happy Lunar New Year. The stained glass church window is beautiful and all the food looks delicious

  13. The white pomfrets are very small - I think we call them "kilat". Not cheap either though, RM30 a kilo.

    1. The big ones will be very expensive. These will do for us.

  14. Ricos panes. Te mando un beso.

  15. The flowers are beautiful, as is the stained glass window.

Your meals often make me want a snack!

  16. I like steamed pomfret. Got to taste it on 3rd day of CNY at a relative's house for dinner. But fishes are cheap. Actually nothing cheap nowadays....sigh. and now with those low supply of pork, I guess everyone is switching to chicken and fish as meat alternatives.

  17. Very nice steamed pomfrets! I can finish two of them in one sitting. LOL!

    1. No sweat, the fishes are not big, so can easily finish 2 in one sitting.
