Last Friday we went out to buy prawns. There is a stall that will only open on Friday morning.
That Friday, this roadside stall was crowded with customers waiting to buy fish and prawns for the Chinese New Year celebration.
Fish and prawns selling like hot cakes.
I didn't want to wait around. I quickly bought 2 kilos of prawns at RM60 per kilo. A friend wanted 1 kilo and 1 kilo for myself.
After cleaning, I was too tired to cook dinner so we went to Buntong village for wan tan noodle.
That evening I only want a bowl of minced meat dumplings (wan ton) because I was not very hungry.
I have seen mother-in-law plants flower but so far the ones in my garden have yet to flower.

I have harvested some bok choy from my hubby's vertical garden.
I had a small taro in my fridge. I cooked the taro with garlic and dried shrimp and added the bok choy to the taro. This is the 1 dish dinner with steamed brown rice on a lazy evening.
Saw this cat outside a shop. Just look at how it sat.
I saw this cat outside a restaurant and it look sleepy.
Linking to Saturday's Critters.
My son, obey your father's commands,
and don't neglect your mother's instruction.
Keep their words always in your heart.
Tie them around your neck.
When you walk, their counsel will lead you.
When you sleep, they will protect you.
When you wake up, they will advise you.
(Proverbs 6:20-22, The Living Bible-TLB)
Looks like the poor cat has a sore bum!
ReplyDeleteLol! Poor cat.
DeleteWow! The prawns are very expensive! Not that big, around RM30 a kilo here. Our bid udang galah is RM60 a kilo, XL ones with claws/legs can go up to 75.
ReplyDeleteEverything is expensive now.
DeleteNice food and fun cat pics! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThank you, Valerie. Hugs.
DeleteHello, Nancy
ReplyDeleteThe fish and prawn stall does look crowded, it is good they do such a great business for one day. The cats are cute, the one cat does have what looks like an awkward pose. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a happy weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
Thank you, Eileen for hosting.
DeleteThat looks like the stand where we buy tomatoes!
ReplyDeleteOh. So sad, really, I do not like that healthy sea-food.
Or that Ingo does not want a cat - crazy guys, those cats ;-)
Stray cats like to climb into our garden and poo there.
DeleteCute cats. Fish and prawns are kept neatly on plates, and it seems like a good sale that day. I wish you a happy Chinese New Year in advance.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jeevan.
DeleteCute kitties! Fresh prawns taste so much better. That taro dish looks very yummy.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angie.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Diane.
DeleteThank you Nancy. Wow! So many people buying seafood got CNY. Are you going to freeze the prawns until CNY?
ReplyDeleteDefinitely have to deep freeze the prawns.
DeleteThose cats are taking it easy! Love seeing your yummy food dishes too.
ReplyDeleteThank you and have a great day.
DeleteTaro with dried shrimp is a good combination
ReplyDeleteThat is how I usually cook the taro.
DeleteYummy food again. The cat looks inebriated!
ReplyDeleteYes, the cat looks like it was.
DeleteLindos gatos. Te mando un beso. https://enamoradadelasletras.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteThank you, Citu.
DeleteCats can take up some very funny positions.
ReplyDeleteThe food looks so good, i am glad you got your prawns for the celebration.
I think cats come up with more positions than dogs do.
DeletePrawns are pretty costly here.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
These days everything is costly.
DeleteI have a mother-in-law plant in my garden and I had no idea that it can flower!
ReplyDeleteI didn't too until I saw someone's plant flowered.
DeleteI have never seen sansevieria flowers! It wouldn't be easy to get their flowers, would it?
ReplyDeleteI have read that they take a long time to flower.
DeleteI love prawns...
ReplyDeleteI love prawns too.
DeleteI love prawns ( shrimp ). How do you like them?
ReplyDeleteCruisin Paul
I like prawns cooked anyway.
DeleteThank you, Julia.
ReplyDeleteIf so many people are queuing, the seafood must be fresh and relatively cheap.
ReplyDeleteThey are fresh and of reasonable price.
