Pork And Chicken Satay In Kampung Simee, Ipoh.

A friend was in Ipoh, so we decided to take our friend out for dinner in Lawan Kuda. We started out early because it will take us about half an hour or more to reach Lawan Kuda if the traffic is smooth.
This picture was taken at about 6.10 pm.

All the way from Ipoh, the drive was smooth with light traffic until just before reaching the RTC Gopeng area.
I suppose it was due to the many cars leaving Ipoh after the long weekend holidays. Since we were almost reaching our destination, we endured the slow moving traffic. It took us almost double the time to reach Lawan Kuda due to the rain and traffic congestion.
The sky cleared at about 7.00 pm.
We took our time to enjoy our dinner. I didn't take any picture because I have posted about this place a few times.
On our way back to Ipoh, a friend mentioned about the pork satay in Kampung Simee. We were keen to try out the satay so we googled to check out the location.
Another fence for joining Good Fences.
We used the Waze app to direct us to the exact location.
It is just beside this Chung Tuck Chinese School Hall.
You won't miss this uncle fanning the bbq stove in front of this corner house.
Time for some photo shots.
We noticed that many ordered the satay through the phone and collect them later when they are ready.
Four plates of satay sauce, no need to share.
We ordered 10 sticks of pork and 10 sticks of chicken satay.
Then we added 5 more sticks of "fun cheong" or pork intestine.
A plate of satay with sliced cucumbers and cut big onions.
Sweet and spicy thick peanut sauce for dipping.
My first stick of chicken satay dipped in peanut sauce.
The satay is selling at RM 0.90 per stick.
If you are interested to try these satay, here is the location:
No. 407, Laluan Simee 5, Kampung Simee, Ipoh.

Lor Mee, Prawn Mee, Kai Si Hor Fun & Fried Mee At Pusat Makanan Ye Sing, Ipoh.

There is a new stall at this coffee shop named Pusat Makanan Ye Sing which is near to the Paragon Hotel in Ipoh. There is a standing banner with pictures of different types of noodles and all of them look so inviting and delicious.

That day, each of us ordered different types of noodles for our breakfast. As for me, I haven't eaten Lor Mee for a long, long time.
My bowl of Lor Mee served with sambal paste.
I request for the gravy not to be too thick.
Hubby ordered a bowl of Prawn Mee from the same stall.
A friend ordered this bowl of Kai Si Hor Fun, also from the same stall. This friend doesn't eat chives, so all the chives ended up in my bowl.
Another ordered this plate of fried Loh Shu Fun or short rice noodle from a different stall.
That morning, we can still see the moon at 7 am.
 Sunrise at 7.00 am.

If anyone builds on this foundation using gold,
silver, wood, hay or straw,
their work will be shown for what it is,
because the Day will bring it to light.
It will be revealed with fire,
and the fire will test the quality of each person's work.

Dinner At Restoran Makanan Laut Sungai Wang, Kampung Simee, Ipoh

When I unlocked the gate on this particular morning, I noticed the sky on my right was very different. I took these snapshots before I got into the car, going for our early morning walk.
The time was 7.00 am.
A fiery sunrise.
At the recreational park at 7.18 am
We had prawn noodles in Menglembu that morning.
I requested for extra spicy paste for my prawn noodle.
Looking at this makes me hungry!
Evening sky at 6.20 pm.
Going to Kg. Simee for our dinner.
Steamed Tilapia with Assam sauce.
Stewed pork rib with yam (taro) in clay pot.
This is worth a return trip.
Deep fried bitter gourd slices with salted egg batter.
Our friend who doesn't eat bitter gourd, ate and enjoy this dish!
Overall, it was a good dinner for 4 people.

Wanton Mee And Roasted Pork In Kg. Simee, Ipoh.

One afternoon, my hubby and I were in town for some banking purposes. After we have finished our banking, I called up a friend to say that we were on our way to pick her up for lunch. It was about 12.30 pm and it was a very hot day.
A friend told us about the wanton noodle in Kampung Simee, Ipoh. We were on our way to try the noodle and also we wanted to eat the roasted pork,
Hubby bought this roasted pork from a van parked outside a coffee shop.  I did a Google map search and I saw the shop name as Kopitiam Sin Lok Yee. This shop is just besides the Kg. Simee wet market. My friend and I were seated at the diagonally opposite coffee shop which is Restoran Ping Zhang. Both coffee shops were at the cross junction where Jalan Pasar and Lebuh Raya 3, Kg. Simee meet.
We ordered wanton noodle. It came without any topping.
And a bowl of wantons. If I remembered rightly, the noodle and wanton cost RM 3.50. Most of the customers ordered from this wanton noodle stall.
After sending our friend home, we went to collect some stuffs from a friend's shop.
Looking at the sky, we had better hurry home to take in my laundry which I had left out to dry in the sun. But it only rained in the late evening.
Spotted this horse behind the fence while we were waiting at the traffic lights along Jalan Sultan Iskandar (formerly Hugh Low Street). I quickly took these 2 snapshots before the traffic light turned green!
