Fish Curry Nyonya Style, Taro Ring & Tofu For Dinner

It has been raining the whole of previous night until the early hours of the morning.

Morning sky at 7:51am.
On the reverse side, view of misty Kledang Hill.
~~~~~
Curry noodle seems to be the best choice on a cool morning.
We ordered dry curry noodle with chicken curry and bbq pork.
Our noodles were served with thick creamy curry gravy.
On the way home from breakfast, we stopped to buy chempedak cake (RM12) and cheesecake (RM15).
I have been buying the chempedak cake (top) quite regularly. This is my first time trying the cheesecake (bottom).
Limau purut (rough skin lime or Kaffir lime) from my garden.
I planted this for the leaves which I used for tom yam dishes.
Dine-in dinner at Restoran 932 in Menglembu.
We ordered taro ring. Sorry, I was late in taking snapshots and someone had taken part of the taro ring. Plus the dish came with 4 pieces of prawn crackers. The crackers were missing because we each took one.
Just to show you, this was what was left of my piece of prawn cracker.
The second dish was deep fried tofu topped with chopped pickled radish, dried shrimp, fried shallots and garlic and sauces.
The 3rd and last dish was fish slices in Nyonya curry. We didn't expect the curry gravy to be thick and too little. Taste wise was good but we prefer more curry gravy to go with our rice. Total cost of dinner for 3 dishes for 4 people = RM69, including rice and tea.
Do not let any part of your bodies become tools of wickedness,
to be used for sinning; but give yourselves completely to God -
every part of you - for you are back from death and
you want to be tools in the hands of God,
to be used for his good purposes.
Curry Noodle, Roast Pork, Glutinous Rice With Kaya & Chempedak Cake
This was the last Wednesday of September.  As usual, we did our morning walk.
In the compound of a corner house that we pass by on our morning walk, there is a pair of papaya trees. On the left is a male papaya tree with flowers on long stalks and without papaya. On the right is a female papaya tree with 2 papayas.
Is this modern art?
After morning walk, drove out to town to buy curry noodles for breakfast.
While I was waiting for the curry noodles, hubby went next door to buy RM10 roast pork.
Curry noodle (dry version) for hubby - RM7
Curry noodle (soup version) for me - RM7.
Both curry noodles have roast pork, char siew & chicken meat.
On the way home, I stopped to buy the above glutinous rice (coloured with blue pea flower) with coconut jam (kaya) - RM2.50
I also bought chempedak cake - RM12.
Curry puff - RM2.60
All the above snacks were kept for lunch and afternoon tea.
Cloudy sky for the whole day.
These trials are only to test your faith,
to see whether or not it is strong and pure.
It is being tested as fire tests gold and purifies it - and
your faith is far more precious to God than mere gold; so if
your faith remains strong after being tried in the test tube of fiery trials,
it will bring you much praise and glory
and honor on the day of his return.
Noodle With Thick Curry Gravy & 5 Treasures Rice Porridge
This was another hot and humid day. Here are 2 sunrise shots I took on my morning walk.
Sunrise at 7:25am
We drove out to town to buy one of our favourite dry curry noodles.
Noodles + curry chicken + bbq pork with thick curry gravy (dry version). I love this dry curry noodle because of the thick curry gravy.
They were generous with the mint leaves. Hubby doesn't like mint leaves, so I had all the mint leaves.
On the way back, we stopped at one coffee shop to buy 2 types of cake. 2 pieces were eaten before I remember to take snapshots.
This is Chempedak cake. 2 pieces missing. Hubby and I took 1 piece each. I love this chempedak cake. 5 pieces in a box = RM12.
This is the Banana Cake. 5 pieces = RM8
~~~~~
Since the weather was hot and humid, I cooked porridge for dinner.
Blanched green vegetable (choy fah), drizzled with garlic oil, oyster and soy sauce.
I boiled rice porridge with 5 ingredients or treasures.
They were roast pork bone, peanuts, minced pork, salted egg and pickled Szechuan vegetable.
An antique bird cage displayed at the Gopeng Museum.
We visited the museum in the year 2015.

Yes, if you want better insight and discernment,
and are searching for them as you would for lost money
or hidden treasure, then wisdom will be given you
and knowledge of God himself;
you will soon learn the importance of reverence
for the Lord and of trusting him.

Lunch At Hoong Tho Restaurant In Ipoh Old Town.

This post is about a lunch we had with friends in the middle of January. Since all of us preferred noodles, we went to Hoong Tho Restaurant in Ipoh old town. We ordered the following for 4 people.
Deep fried dumplings or wontons.
4 fish balls for 4 people.
Flat rice noodle in egg gravy - single portion.
Yee mee or chewy noodle in dark sauce.
After we have finished our lunch, we just couldn't resist buying 2 pieces of these traditional sponge cake from the same restaurant to share.
And we also bought a chempedak cake to take home to enjoy. Chempedak is something like the jack fruit but it is softer and has a nice fragrance.
Hubby only ate a few pieces, I finished off the rest.
The restaurant also sells these Chinese New Year cookies and snacks.
A few shops away, we stopped to look at these Chinese sausages and waxed meat. These waxed items are usually sold before the Chinese New Year.
We bought 2 pieces of waxed duck legs which is hubby's favourite.
Buah Bidara - a tropical fruit, crisp and a bit juicy and a bit sweet.
This is the first time I bought and tasted these fruits.
