This was another hot and humid day. Here are 2 sunrise shots I took on my morning walk.
Sunrise at 7:25am
Sunrise at 7:32am
~~~~~
We drove out to town to buy one of our favourite dry curry noodles.
Noodles + curry chicken + bbq pork with thick curry gravy (dry version). I love this dry curry noodle because of the thick curry gravy.
They were generous with the mint leaves. Hubby doesn't like mint leaves, so I had all the mint leaves.
On the way back, we stopped at one coffee shop to buy 2 types of cake. 2 pieces were eaten before I remember to take snapshots.
This is Chempedak cake. 2 pieces missing. Hubby and I took 1 piece each. I love this chempedak cake. 5 pieces in a box = RM12.
This is the Banana Cake. 5 pieces = RM8
~~~~~
Since the weather was hot and humid, I cooked porridge for dinner.
Blanched green vegetable (choy fah), drizzled with garlic oil, oyster and soy sauce.
I boiled rice porridge with 5 ingredients or treasures.
They were roast pork bone, peanuts, minced pork, salted egg and pickled Szechuan vegetable.
An antique bird cage displayed at the Gopeng Museum.
We visited the museum in the year 2015.
Yes, if you want better insight and discernment,
and are searching for them as you would for lost money
or hidden treasure, then wisdom will be given you
and knowledge of God himself;
you will soon learn the importance of reverence
for the Lord and of trusting him.
(Proverbs 2:3-5, The Living Bible-TLB)
Curry looks really good! I love the cakes too.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angie.
DeleteHmmmm, mint! Yummy!
ReplyDeleteI never had a banana cake. I don´t think you can buy that here.
OK, that´s it. I´m off to make pickled eggs now! :-)
Have a great day, here yet again... to cold. 14C...
The last time I made pickled eggs was quite some time ago. Feeling lazy now. Over here it is now 32C.
DeleteCempedak cake? Never had that before. Love the look of the curry, nice thick gravy! Exquisite antique bird cage! One of a kind!
ReplyDeleteNow the cempedak fruit is in season so this is the best time for cempedak cake.
DeleteThe cake looks yummy, the sky is great and the green look delicious plus I do love your plate, such a pretty pattern.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Margaret.
DeleteDid you use a camera or just a handphone to take the sky shots? They always look so nice. I would love that curry with the think curry gravy.
ReplyDeleteI use a handphone since I carry it around with me wherever I go. If you like thick curry gravy, you will love this.
DeleteThe dry curry noodles are very tempting with generous chunks of chicken and thick gravy. Wah! I have never eaten chempedak cake. It must be very fragrant!
ReplyDeleteThank you, PH. The chempedak very good and very fragrant.
DeleteThis is the first time, I heard about chempedak cake.
ReplyDeleteChempedak cake not always have because chempedak fruit is seasonal.
DeleteI am not a huge fan of mint leaves either. I can eat a few but not as many as are on your plate.
ReplyDeleteI was not a fan of mint leaves but lately, I have learned to enjoy mint leaves.
Delete...the cake looks nice and moist. The bird cage is certainly ornate. Thanks Nancy for stopping by, enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tom. Enjoy your day.
DeleteYour sky clicks are gorgeous. And those cakes ...yum
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ashok.
DeleteI never seen this kind of bird cage! Yummy cakes and lovely sunrise
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jeevan.
DeleteChempedak cake photo looks like cornbread.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
Thank you, Dora.
DeleteYummy food as always. I ate some of each dish.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday, Nancy. ♥
Thank you, Sandee. Have a fabulous day.
DeleteI wish I could easily buy Affordable cempedak cake here. The one I bought previously is by special order and costs MYR 35 nett. Makes me feel like eating dry curry Mee hoon after seeing your post. I would also love to eat your 5 treasures congee if the pork taste is not that strong. Is the pork taste strong or not?
ReplyDeleteThe pork taste is not strong because I used roast pork bones. I also use char choy and lots of ginger strips to cover whatever smell there might be.
DeleteChar choy and ginger taste is yummy! Good way to use both of them in congee.
DeleteI once ordered a porridge and it tasted so delicious and now I used the same combination when I cook this porridge.
DeleteSo great Post!

ReplyDeleteThank you, Mimi. I feel the same too.
DeleteI like the patterns in that sky.
ReplyDeleteThank you, William.
DeleteMe parecio un rico pastel chempedak. Te mando un beso
ReplyDeleteThank you, JP.
DeleteThe sky shots are gorgeous. I love the way you present all this wonderful food. Cake, there is a word I LOVE! heeheehee
ReplyDeleteThank you and have a wonderful day.
DeleteOoh that thick curry gravy. All too often 'dry curry noodles' here just translates to noodles tossed in soy sauce with curry chicken on the side. Until now I think fondly of the one sold in Ipoh's Glutton square.
ReplyDeleteSo true. That is why I seldom order dry curry chicken because it is just like eating noodle with soy sauce.
DeleteThos old bird cages make wonderful decor.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with you.
DeleteI have never seen a snake been it looks interesting
ReplyDeleteWhen it is hanging down from the vine, it does look like green snakes at first glance. I think that is why it is named snake bean.
DeleteIt has been years I have not eaten chempedak cakes. I remembered they were very fragrant and nice. Where to find them in KL now? Hmmm
ReplyDelete5 treasures porridge is very heavenly. It's always healthy and good for my stomach to eat porridge.
Thank you, TM. I hope you will get to find good chempedak cakes in KL. Porridge is good to eat as it is soothing and easy to digest.
DeleteBonito amanecer. Besos.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Teresa.
