Lunch Treat At De Money Cafe, Ipoh

We had a lunch invitation from a friend. We were told to meet at the De Money Cafe at 12pm. It was a Monday.

Sunrise at 6:50am.
First, we started our day with our morning walk.
~~~~~
We reached the cafe at about the same time.
Super value set lunch.
Signature rendang chicken rice.
White coffee at promotion price.The men ordered hot honey lemon drink and iced white coffee.
Those who like their coffee thick and strong will love this.
I ordered iced soursop drink and my friend ordered a fruit juice which I forgot to take a snapshot.
Chicken chop with black pepper sauce for me.
2 sets of Chicken chop with mushroom soup for my friend and her hubby.
Potato fries for sharing.
Hubby ordered the signature rendang chicken rice.
The rice is coloured with the blue pea flower.
1 rendang chicken drumstick, half an egg, pickled vegetable and fried cracker.
Thanks to our friend for this lunch treat.
We were early so there was no lunch crowd.
The place is new and comfortable.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,
who comforts us in all our troubles,
so that we can comfort those in any trouble
with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
Black Pepper Chicken Breast Meat & Paku Pakis Salad
This was a lovely Saturday morning.
Started out on our morning walk at about 6:50am.
Sunrise at 7:16am.
Sunrise through the trees at 7:30am
We had fish noodle for breakfast at our regular coffee shop.
There is a 50 cents increase so it is now RM9.50.
~~~~~
Simple home cooked dinner.
I found 2 pieces of chicken breast meat in the freezer. I forgot what I wanted to do with the breast meat.
This is half a breast meat which I sliced and open up for faster marinating and cooking. Simply marinate the breast meat with salt and black pepper. Pan fried in a non stick pan and served with some chili oil. I usually don't like breast meat but surprisingly it was tender and moist.
Blanched paku paki + onions and roasted sesame dressing.
That morning I passed by a roadside stall selling paku pakis or fern heads. It was selling RM2 for a small bundle. I bought 3 bundles.
We each had one half of a chicken breast meat with the paku pakis salad and this was a no rice dinner.
~~~~~
At one time, the following hibiscus plant was infested with pest. To rescue the plant, I trimmed it bald and had it repotted.
It is now growing healthily and these are the first 2 blooms after being repotted.
The flowers are big, bigger than my palm and the colours bright and showy.
For this is what the high and exalted One says - he who lives forever,
whose name is holy: "I live in a high and holy place,
but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit,
to revive the spirit of the lowly and
to revive the heart of the contrite.
(Isaiah 57:15, New International Version-NIV)
Chicken Chop For Dinner
It was another cloudy day. According to weather forecast, there will be rain in the afternoon.
Morning sky at 6:55am.
On the reverse side, the moon shinning above us.
Cloudy sky at 7:22am.
Sun partially blocked by dark clouds at 7:44am.
~~~~~
Breakfast
Pork noodle for hubby.
Cream crackers with home made pineapple jam and black coffee for me.
A friend gave me this pineapple jam.
White bitter gourd plants in my garden.
White bitter gourd plant growing in another pot.
Hubby went to the nearby food court to buy lunch from the Indian stall. He bought 2 pieces of fried chicken, cabbage and long beans without any rice for us to share.
~~~~~
Home cooked dinner.
Chicken chop with boiled potatoes and broccoli.
2 pieces of chicken chop with carrot, onions and tomatoes gravy. We have not had chicken chop or Western food for many months so there is no complain over this home cooked chicken chop.
In everything you do, stay away from complaining
and arguing so that no one can speak a word of blame against you.
You are to live clean, innocent lives as children of God
in a dark world full of people who are crooked and stubborn.
Shine out among them like beacon lights,
holding out to them the Word of Life.
Then when Christ returns, how glad I will be
that my work among you was so worthwhile.
Dim Sum For Breakfast & Chicken Chop For Dinner
The weather is still hot and humid and there was no rain in our area. For a few days, the weather forecast said there will be light shower in the late afternoon but what we got was a few drops of rain i.e. if it can be counted as a light shower.
Dawn at 6:50am
6:50am
Morning sky at 7:03am
Sunrise at 7:06am.
7:06am
7:09am
~~~~~
I couldn't think of what I wanted to eat, so I ended up buying dim sum for breakfast. The dim sum restaurant is just within walking distance from my house and there is no need to queue in the early hours of the morning.
4 fish balls, 2 yam puffs and 2 steamed buns with pork filling (san yuk bao).
Big fish balls at RM2.50 each.
Yam puffs, crispy and flaky on the outside.
Gold cup flowers.
One of the plants doing well in the hot weather.
~~~~~
I couldn't think of what to cook for dinner. I looked through what I have in the freezer and finally took out the boneless chicken legs to thaw before marinating them.
I ended up cooking chicken chop and chicken soup for dinner.
Not a nice presentation but it will do (okaylah) as long as it is acceptable to our own  buds. We each had 1 chicken leg, 1 fried egg, some pan fried boiled potato and tomato slices.
We received the above fried noodle from our neighbour. Since we had eaten our dinner, we kept it in the fridge for the next day's breakfast.
Never tire of loyalty and kindness.
Hold these virtues tightly.
Write them deep within your heart.
Chee Cheong Fun, Popiah & Chicken Chop Rice With Cucumber Pickle
By now I am getting a bit confused because there seem to be overlapping MCOs for us in Ipoh. So for us Ipohites, if there are conflicting sop, then it is safer to follow whichever is stricter to avoid getting a fine from the authority. Today is the last day of EMCO for us. So from tomorrow onwards we will follow the sop for the FMCO aka the Total Lockdown, until further notice. The only difference is that we can go out for our morning walk but we can only do so after 7am.
The following morning sky photos were taken before EMCO.
Morning sky at 6:45am, outside my house.
Morning sky at 6:55am, at the nearby shops.
This is the best time for walking, when we have the whole streets to ourselves (almost).
Pink sky at 7am, at the nearby shops.
~~~~~
Breakfast.
Our favourite chee cheong fun (steamed flat rice rolls with dried shrimp) from Canning Garden. Generous toppings of crispy fried shallot, sesame seeds, green chili pickle, shallot oil and soy sauce.
Self-propagated cockscomb plants outside my house.
Popiah lunch, blessing from our neighbour.
Dessert: home made guilinggao (herbal jelly).
~~~~~
My neighbour called and told me,
 "No need to cook dinner, I have ordered 2 sets of dinner for you".
Rice with cucumber pickle (2 pax)
Hainanese style chicken chop (2 pax)
The rice given was big portion, so we kept half of each pax in the fridge.
We can fried it for the next meal.
Hainese style chicken chop rice with appetizing cucumber pickle.
Thanks to our neighbour, it was a wonderful and satisfying dinner.
My son, honey whets the appetite and so does wisdom!
When you enjoy becoming wise, there is hope for you!
A bright future lies ahead!
