This was a lovely Saturday morning.
Started out on our morning walk at about 6:50am.
Sunrise at 7:16am.
Sunrise through the trees at 7:30am
We had fish noodle for breakfast at our regular coffee shop.
There is a 50 cents increase so it is now RM9.50.

Simple home cooked dinner.
I found 2 pieces of chicken breast meat in the freezer. I forgot what I wanted to do with the breast meat.
This is half a breast meat which I sliced and open up for faster marinating and cooking. Simply marinate the breast meat with salt and black pepper. Pan fried in a non stick pan and served with some chili oil. I usually don't like breast meat but surprisingly it was tender and moist.
Blanched paku paki + onions and roasted sesame dressing.
That morning I passed by a roadside stall selling paku pakis or fern heads. It was selling RM2 for a small bundle. I bought 3 bundles.
We each had one half of a chicken breast meat with the paku pakis salad and this was a no rice dinner.

At one time, the following hibiscus plant was infested with pest. To rescue the plant, I trimmed it bald and had it repotted.
It is now growing healthily and these are the first 2 blooms after being repotted.
For this is what the high and exalted One says - he who lives forever,
whose name is holy: "I live in a high and holy place,
but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit,
to revive the spirit of the lowly and
to revive the heart of the contrite.
(Isaiah 57:15, New International Version-NIV)
Gorgeous Hibiscus!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ginny.
DeleteBeautiful flower and sky. The chicken breast looks nice and moist.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Joyful.
DeleteThe plant is thanking you for saving it by giving you big blooms! Very pretty. My vote is for your paku pakis dish - very nice to eat. Is the chicken breast a very big one? Cos after cut into half, it still looks like a lot of meat. Lucky you found it and use it instead it being lost in your fridge.
ReplyDeleteI totally forgot about the breast meat, only of average size but meaty.
DeleteGreat skies.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jim.
DeleteHmmmm. Still dark here, nice to see your place, and weee... I love chicken breast! And am hungry again ;-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful hibiscus.
Thank you, Iris. Plenty of rain for the past 2 days. Many areas flooded. Another wet and grey day today.
DeleteYes, we do blanch paku sometimes to make kerabu. Very nice and very healthy, no cooking needed! The ethnic folks also sell RM2 a bundle here, usually around half a kilo but the vegetable sellers sell by the kilo - may work out to more or less the same.
ReplyDeleteI like paku pakis kerabu too but lazy to make.
DeleteI do like paku especially fried in belachan or with santan. Luckily you managed to save the hibiscus, it is lovely with the red centre
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kestrel. Not easy to get paku in my place.
DeleteHibiscus looks so beautiful! A very healthy and delicious dinner.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angie.
Deletehealthy meal with lean meat and paku pakis!

ReplyDeleteThank you, Valerie. Hugs and happy weekend.
DeletePaku pakis salad reminded me of the Thai salad. Can add lime, chilli, onion to it.
ReplyDeleteThat was what I wanted to make initially but no lime and chili in the house.
DeleteWhat a wonderful sky photos:) thanks for your sharing...
ReplyDeleteThank you and have a wonderful weekend.
DeleteFor me a yellow hibiscus is always to die for - so beautiful. The third sky photo with black tree silhouettes is stunning. Looking at your delicious plates, I must get some lunch instantly!

ReplyDeleteCruisin Paul
Thank you, Paul.
DeleteCooking chicken breast meat is tricky. High enough to be safe but just a tad over that and it is dry.
ReplyDeleteYou are quite the gardener saving your plant.
I love how you take photos of the sky almost every day.
Thank you, Yogi Have a wonderful weekend.
DeleteI always enjoy your food. We love chicken breast, but it's with a sauce of some kind. Makes it far better. Overcooking can mess up chicken breast too.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and weekend, Nancy. ♥
I was suppose to make a sauce but ended up with none, so chili oil came to the rescue.
DeleteI really like the deep blue sky in the first photo!
ReplyDeleteThank you and have a great weekend.
Deletedelightful sunrise, love the silhouettes!
