Christmas Blessing From Neighbour And Friend

I will start this post going back to Tuesday. It was a bright and sunny day.

Kledang Hill bathed with sunlight at 7:38am.
We returned from our morning walk and breakfast to find that the roof work had started on one of our neighbour's house.
They chose a good day to change the roof tiles.
The work was completed in less than a day. All the old tiles were carted away and everything was cleared away.
~~~~~
I harvested some purple and green brinjals from the garden for dinner.
I cut them into thick slices, soaked in salt water. Then I drained off the salt water, sprinkled pepper onto both sides of the brinjal slices and pan fried them until cooked. I served this with some chili oil and roasted sesame dressing.
Fried a thick slice of grouper fish with fried ginger strips and soy sauce. These we ate with plain rice porridge.
~~~~~
This year I didn't make or buy any thing for Christmas.
On Christmas Eve, I received 2 items from our neighbour.
A fruit cake.
And a fruit jelly.
~~~~~
On Christmas Day, I received a message telling me to collect something from a friend (ex-colleague's house after church.
Traditional roast pork with potatoes (without oven), using her grandma's recipe. I was told to heat up and sliced the pork thinly before serving which I did as above.
And I cooked non-fried Cintan dried noodle.
Before serving, I poured the gravy over the pork and noodle.
This was our Christmas Day dinner.
There was enough leftover for the next day's dinner.
Panda Bears mural found by the river in front of the Riverfront Hotel.
  2. What wonderful neighbours you have :)
    We have decided not to swap Christmas gifts with adults, so we just give to kids.
    What a lovely mural with the pandas. The only (2) pandas I have seen in Australia are in the Adelaide Zoo, they are so cute.
    Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Nancy and I wish you a wonderful 2022.
  4. Nice gifts from your neighbors. Food looks good as usual. I wasn't sure about brinjals were. Almost looks like a pickle. The panda mural is nice to see. It snowed in Oregon today and it was quite cold. 3 inches of snow.
  7. I wonder if there is this kind of service here, not that I need it at this point in time. Can't see the fruit cake, all wrapped up! There will be one in my blogpost tomorrow, a Christmas fruit pudding - we had it for our Christmas dinner. Noodles again? You haven't stocked up on your rice yet?
    1. I finally went out to buy some brown rice from the shop that day but forgot to stock up on the noodles. Getting forgetful these days.
  8. Construction sites are on here forever. The city always takes the cheapest and hence the work is not done properly.
    You not only have better workers, but also great neighbors :-)
  9. That's a bright and beautiful day to carry on outdoor activities. We also laid roof tiles on our house last week, after the rain stopped its activities for more than three months. Yummy gifts from your friends and neighbor, and a great dinner! Hope it was Merry Christmas
