Crab Glass Noodle, Tom Yam Soup & Thai Chicken Feet Salad

After morning walk, we stopped at one of our regular coffee shop for breakfast.

Our favourite shredded chicken noodle (kai si hor fun).
Can you see the bits of dried scallops used for boiling the soup?
While having breakfast, 4 Common Myna birds were playing or fighting on the road. They were making a lot of noise.
~~~~~
I had lunch with 2 sisters at
Different Taste, #72, Persiaran Bercham Selatan 2, Bercham.
My sister was looking forward to enjoy the above: Crab with glass noodle. The cook weighed a crab and informed us the price: RM99. So the above dish cost RM99 (approx. 22usd). I should have push the glass noodle aside to take a good snapshot of the size of the crab.
Next, we ordered Thai chicken feet salad @ RM16.
Grouper fish chunks in clear Tom Yam soup @ RM45.
Total cost of lunch: RM161.50. The lady boss waived the 50 cents.
Thanks to my sis for this delicious treat.
Aloe vera flower from my garden.
~~~~~
No home cooked dinner for us.
Hubby bought 20 skewers of chicken satay (grilled chicken on skewers) from a nearby kampung. The satay costs 0.70 cents per skewers.
The seller is generous with the peanut sauce. There is some leftover sauce which I kept in the fridge to dip with our home grown cucumbers.
Hubby bought some boiled compressed rice (nasi impit), The cucumber and onions are given free.
Dinner for 2 @ RM14 (approx 3usd)
Cockscomb flower from self-propagation. It was found sharing a pot with a yellow Croton plant in front of my house.

And these men of faith, though they trusted God and
won his approval, none of them received all
that God had promised them; for God wanted them to wait and
share the even better rewards that were prepared for us.

Curry Noodle, Rice Porridge, Prawns With Glass Noodle

This was on Valentines Day. It was just like any ordinary day.

Morning sky at 7:55am.
Sun rays shining through the dark clouds.
After morning walk, we drove to Pusat Makanan Ye Sing, Taman Bandaraya for breakfast. We ordered our favourite curry noodle. Current price is RM6.50 per bowl.
I collected some of the arrowhead shoots from the compost, washed it and placed them in a mini fish bowl. I am curious to see whether these shoots will grow well in water.
~~~~~
We had something to settle in town, so we ended up having lunch in Restoran Kar Heng, Jalan C.M. Yusuff (former Jalan Chamberlain), Ipoh.
Hubby ordered chu chap chook. I ordered pork porridge.
Mixed innards porridge (chu chap chook) with fried intestine.
We shared this plate of deep fried fresh water fish.
Surprisingly, hubby enjoys this deep fried fresh water fish.
Total cost of lunch - approx RM17.
I want to see if these arrowhead shoots will make good household plants.
~~~~~
For Valentines Day's dinner, I tried out a recipe which my elder son recommended to me. It is a Thai dish called Goong Ob Wonsen which is Ginger Shrimp & Glass Noodle.
I had home grown ginger, big prawns and glass noodle (mung bean noodle) at home. I have to do without the spring onions and cilantro. No problem because hubby doesn't like cilantro.
It is a very easy recipe to follow.
I used the only packet of mung bean noodle available at home.
It was just enough for 2 portion. Each portion with 4 big prawns.
It was very delicious and will hope to cook again soon. 1 packet of mung bean or glass noodle is not enough for 2 people. In future, I need to use one and half packet of glass noodle or try substituting the glass noodle with rice vermicelli.

Hallelujah! Thank you, Lord! How good you are!
Your love for us continues on forever.
Who can ever list the glorious miracles of God?
Who can ever praise him half enough?

Nasi Lemak, Chive Omelette, Salad & Glass Noodle In Soup

This was on a Friday, one week before we were placed on Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) which is the tightening of the MCO 3.0. Under MCO 3.0, we were still able to enjoy our early morning walk.

The streets were deserted at about 7am.
~~~~~
We stopped at a roadside stall to buy nasi lemak.
The nasi lemak and sambal sauce were packed separately.
I have extra cut chives in the fridge which I didn't use up.
So, I used it to make chive omelette.
Hot milo
Breakfast for 2 people.
Nasi lemak with the sambal sauce added.
I bought the above biscuits for snacks. These are my favourite biscuits. On the left is the peanuts and sesame biscuit and on the right is the cream crackers without oil.
Gifts from my neighbour.
~~~~~
Simple and healthy lunch.
Baby Romaine lettuce, red and yellow capsicums.
Baby Romaine lettuce with Kewpie roasted sesame dressing. Hubby doesn't like capsicum nor is he a fan of raw nuts and cranberries.
Colourful and beautiful salad for me.
Baby Romaine lettuce, red and yellow capsicums, pine nuts, walnuts, and cranberries.
Drizzled with Kewpie roasted sesame dressing. So yummy!
~~~~~
Afternoon snack.
A type of rojak consisting of blanched water spinach, tofu, fish balls, fish cake, fried stuffed bean curd sheet, and peanut sauce.
~~~~~
Dinner
There won't be any hot pot party for the time being so I used the hot pot flavouring to cook soup with fish and meat balls, cauliflower, carrot and sweet peas.
Glass noodle (tong fun) to go with the soup.
Light and healthy dinner for 2 people.
Condiments to go with the glass noodle soup for extra flavouring.
Left: spicy crispy anchovies, right: curry paste oil.

"Good salt is worthless if it loses its saltiness;
it can't season anything. So don't lose your flavor!
Live in peace with each other."
