Lunch With Friends At Best View Restaurant, Desa Rishah, Ipoh

This was a Tuesday. We were looking forward to meet up and fellowship with our old friends whom we haven't met for a long time.

We woke up later than usual and started our morning walk at about 7:20am.
Overcast sky the whole day.
~~~~~
At about 12pm, our friends came to pick us up from our house. Our friends wanted a place with air-con since the day was warm. We took them to Best View Restaurant. Since it was a weekday lunch, there is no need for table reservation. For dinner, table reservation is needed.
I think this is "yau cham" or "soak in oil" fish with drizzling of garlic oil and soy sauce.
Sambal asparagus with prawns.
Green Amaranth (yeen choy) and century egg in superior soup.
Tofu with assorted vegetables in clay pot.
Lunch for 4 people.
This was a treat from our friends.
~~~~~
My sister-in-law and her husband was in Ipoh and we were invited for a vegetarian dinner with them. The dinner was for 8 people and I didn't take any food photos. After dinner, my sister-in-law passed us the following foodstuff.
Fresh peach.
3 packets of fried tempe chips.
Sorry for the blur photo.
Some mini size sweet potatoes.
These are good for steaming or roasting.
A packet of organic soybean powder.
Thank you, SIL for your gifts.

And God has reserved for his children the priceless gift of eternal life;
it is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled,
beyond the reach of change and decay.

Home Cooked Chicken Soup & Veggie For Dinner

It looks like the rainy season has started. No morning walk whenever it rains in the morning.
Gloomy sky since early morning and was drizzling on and off the whole day.
*     *     *     *     *
Below, I am sharing home cooked dinner for 2 evenings.
1st dinner
Chicken soup boiled with shallots, smashed ginger and smashed peppercorns.
Since not eating any rice, added in 2 pototoes that were beginning to sprout.
Steamed French Beans and served with spicy dried shrimp paste (home made).

 2nd dinner
 Stinky beans & minced pork cooked with home made spicy dried shrimp paste. This portion was kept in the fridge and re-heated and the beans not so green.
Using the remaining home made spicy dried shrimp paste to stir fry asparagus and home grown okras.
Nice and neat concrete fence or wall with part metal grille from a residential area.

Enjoy what you have rather than desiring what you don't have.
Just dreaming about nice things is meaningless - like chasing the wind.

Assam Fish For Early Dinner At Restoran Sin Hup Kee, Ipoh New Town

Yesterday evening, we had an early dinner because we did not have any lunch. Hubby was thinking of fried noodle and we went to Jalan Leong Sin Nam at Ipoh new town. After parking our car, hubby changed his mind about eating fried noodle. We had parked our car in front of Restoran Sin Hup Kee and hubby decided to eat at this place.

Whenever we eat at Restoran Sin Hup Kee, we will order their signature Assam Fish. Our favourite is Assam Stingray. This evening we were told that there is no stingray so we opted for Assam Black Pomfret.
Assam Black Pomfret with ladies' finger, long beans, tomatoes and tofu puff. Whenever we have assam, I will have very good appetite. Just this dish alone is enough for me. Small portion. Cost MYR 27.00
Deep fried soy sauce chicken, with thick soy sauce sticking to chicken pieces. This is my family's favourite dish, especially the men's. Small portion - Cost MYR 8.00.

Stir-fry asparagus with belacan (prawn paste).
Medium portion - Cost MYR 10.00. 2 plates white rice - MYR 2.40.
1 glass plain water, 1 glass Chinese Tea - MYR 0.90.
Total cost MYR 48.30 (approx. 13.13 USD)
(No service charge or government tax was charged)

The tables started to fill up by the dinner crowd.

They started with one shop lot, now they have 2 shop lots, side by side each other.

Address: Restoran Sin Hup Kee,
No. 17. Jalan Leong Sin Nam, 30300 Ipoh.

That God is on one side and all the people on the other side,
and Christ Jesus, Himself man, is between them to
bring them together, by giving His life for all mankind.
This is the message that at the proper time God gave to the world.

DINNER FOR TWO AT RESTORAN HUNG TING, IPOH

Restoran Hung Ting or formerly Restoran Huang Tin at their former location was our regular place for dine in or take away. Initially whenever I needed to take away, I would just call their mobile number, place the order and the reply would be to collect my food in 15 minutes time. Later the 15 minutes was increased to 30 minutes because of good business. It started as a simple food stall in a coffee shop, now upgraded to its current newly acquired air-conditioned two shop lots restaurant in Desa Rishah, Ipoh.

The first time we wanted to eat at this new place, it was closed. The second time we went was on a Saturday evening and it was packed to the brim with customers standing outside. On our third trip which was a weekday, we made a point to reach there by 5.45 pm, and finally, we managed to have our dinner there.

Since there were only two of us, we ordered two items.
A plate of steamed chicken (free range) - half a chicken. It is firm, meaty and flavourful.
A plate of asparagus stir fried with sea water prawns and sambal belacan sauce (my favourite).
Since it was still early, the food came very fast and the sweet young lady boss, always with a smile is able to come to our table to have a short chat with us.
2 glasses of boiled red sugar cane water with no sugar added.
The total bill came to MYR 46.00 (inclusive of 2 small portion white rice).
Current address: 2 shop lots, fully conditioned, increased in staffs.
This photo was taken before the dinner crowd came in.

Do take note: Rest day or closed on Fridays.
And this (below) to help you locate the restaurant.

but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.

but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.
