Home Cooked Dinner At The Hawker Centre, Ipoh

We are regular patrons at the Taman Pertama Hawker Centre. Whenever I am not in the mood to cook, we usually end up here at this hawker centre to have our dinner. There are many stalls to choose from but we only patronize 3 to 4 favourite stalls.
The hawker centre at Lorong Taman 11, Taman Pertama, Ipoh. It is opposite Kopitiam Huan Le, the famous fish noodles shop.
Hawker Centre parking lot is usually full during peak dinner time.
Most of the stalls open for evening business.

Our favourite stall - Clay pot chicken rice and home cooked dishes.

Our favourite drinks stall.

Customers waiting for their take away orders.

To avoid the dinner crowd, we usually go before 6.00 pm.

If we want to eat clay pot chicken rice, we usually do so on weekdays or go early before the peak dinner time. During peak time, the waiting time for clay pot chicken rice will be about 30 minutes or more.

This family business started with the elderly couple. The husband on the left and the wife on the right. Now the son has taken over the business with the parents helping out at the stall.
Thursday and Fridays are their off days.

Our iced ambra juice and iced pineapple juice.
Sometimes we order plain coconut water.
Below are some of the dinner we had, with different dishes combination. The stall also serves many home cooked dishes besides the clay pot chicken rice.

Day 1 dinner, (a) Chicken rice in clay pot, (b) Chicken rice on a plate and (c) sour mustard green (suen choy)
Day 2 dinner. (a) Black vinegar pork trotter, (b) stewed pork rib with taro and (c) curry pork rib with potatoes.

Day 3 dinner. (a) Soup, (b) stewed sweet sour pork trotter with white radish and (c) stewed pork rib and taro.

Day 4 dinner. (a) Curry chicken with potatoes, (b) blanched greens and (c) pork slices with young ginger.

Day 5 dinner with friends. (a) Black vinegar pork trotter, (b) Sambal belacan petai (stinking beans), (c) fish with salted preserved mustard green and (d) sour mustard green.

Day 6 with friends. (a) Black vinegar pork trotter, (b) pork slices with preserved bean, (c) curry pork rib with potatoes, and (d) blanched greens.

Day 7 dinner from the Indian stall. Sometimes I crave for Indian bread (capati) with curry chicken.

This Indian stall sells good capati. Capati is healthy bread.

The true Bread is a Person -
the one sent by God from heaven,
and He gives life to the world.
