Dinner With Friends At Kedai Makanan & Minuman Fay Loo, Ipoh.

It was a Thursday evening and together with our friends, we were going to attend a talk by a guest speaker in a local church. But before that, we wanted to have dinner at a restaurant nearby to the church and we thought of Kedai Makanan & Miniuman Fay Loo which our friends have not been to. This restaurant opens from 6 pm till 3 am!
We ordered this dish which we have not eaten for a long, long time.
Same dish as above, taken from a different angle.
This is deep fried black pomfret, topped with cooked preserved salted veggie. It is sweet, sour and is a very appetizing dish.

Eggplant or brinjals cooked with minced pork.

Steamed minced pork with chopped salted fish.
We used to order this dish as fried patties but this time, we wanted to try it steamed.
All 4 of us ordered porridge. 6 bowls of porridge for 4 people.
The dishes go well with both white rice and porridge.
We reached the church early and I couldn't resist taking a snapshot of the altar from where we were seated.
One more photo before I put my smartphone away. Then it was time for the praise and worship to start before the guest speaker was invited to speak.

Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me
so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel.
(Ephesians 6:19, New International Version-NIV)

The following photos are for joining Tuesday's Treasures & Image-in-ing. These antiques photos were taken at the above restaurant where we had our dinner. Sad to note that these were covered with fine dust and cobweb.

Miniature bottles of Carlsberg beer dating from 1904 to 2011.

  3. What a beautiful cross. Being a Catholic, my church has a very large cross with Jesus on it. On the right side is the Blessed Virgin Mary and on the other side is St. Joseph.
What is a black pomfret? Would it be a fish?
Have a great day Nancy. See ya.

Nice looking teapots - I have just gotten rid of two of mine similar to these as they are just too heavy with my arthritis
