There is no grand celebration for the 1st day of New Year 2020. We started off the new year with a pot bless gathering in my house. My friend and I came up with some nice home cooked food for the 4 of us. I cooked 3 items and my friend contributed 2 items for our new year lunch.
My 1st dish - Black Vinegar Pork Leg with wood fungus and lots of ginger slices.
My 2nd dish - Stewed Chinese cabbage with nam yue (fermented bean curd).
My 3rd dish - Egg omelette with chopped kale.
My friend bought the kale and gave half to me.
Dish cooked by my friend - Sliced arrow head stewed with minced pork and kale.
My friend also bought some roast pork and sausage from the market.

We had a very satisfying and filling lunch without any rice.
After washing up, we went to a shopping mall to walk off some calories.
As usual, I am drawn to this pillar aquarium with live fishes swimming in it.
I was happy taking snapshots while my hubby and friends shopped.
I don't know the name of these fishes.
Some stopped to watch the fishes but I was the only one taking pictures.
Hubby and friends joined me after their shopping.
I enjoyed watching the fishes swimming graciously in the water.
Linking to Saturday's Critters.
"In a word, what I'm saying is, Grow up. You're kingdom subjects.
Now live like it. Live out your God-created identity.
Live generously and graciously toward others,
the way God lives toward you."
(Matthew 5:48, The Message-MSG)
Already salivating at your first dish! I support celebrating at home... guess popular spots would be crowded anyway.
