Assam Laksa For Breakfast

On this particular morning, we set out on our morning walk earlier than usual. It was still dark except for the street lights and the bright moon shining above.

Snapshot of moon at 6:07 am.
We saw the food stalls getting ready to start their business. We were interested in one particular stall. A friend recommended that we try the assam laksa and curry noodle.
By the time we finished our walk, the stall was ready for business and we were the first customers.
Our coffee.
We ordered a bowl of assam laksa to share and some fried ingredients.
Fried stuffed bean curd sheets and fried yam bean roll.
Stuffed okra and eggplant.
The friendly lady boss was surprised that we ordered assam laksa at such an early hour. Usually customers will only order laksa for brunch or lunch. She asked for our review and I told her that for my personal taste, I prefer it to be a bit more spicy. Others may find it just right.

Starting tomorrow, 9th Nov until 6th Dec., we will again come under Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) due to the increasing number of infected Covid-19 cases. So, let us be responsible citizens by following the SOP, take good care of ourselves and everyone to stay safe.

Yes indeed, it is good when you truly obey our Lord's command,
"You must love and help your neighbors
just as much as you love and take care of yourself."
(James 2:8, The Living Bible-TLB)

  1. I just came back from a 3 days 2 nights cruise to nowhere today. Departs fri 6 nov, come back today sun 8 nov. Cannot go overseas so just take cruise. Need to take swab test before entering the ferry, the swab test was not painful, just feel a bit itchy in the nose, the doctors and nurses are very professional. This is to make sure everyone stays safe.

    1. That is wonderful. Nice to take a cruise even it is to nowhere. Some told me that the swab test is quite painful.

  7. I will eat Assam Laksa early in the morning too. Nice food. I would be scared to walk in the dark so early in the morning. Will you both be back to try the curry noodles?

  8. I hope things get better...so far the state close to us is shutting down indoor dining. I am hoping we dont go into total shut down again. But we do what we have to do to stay safe.

    1. We are okay with conditional movement control as long as it is not total movement control. We know it is to stop the spread of the virus.

  9. The red dishes are cheerful. Did you know that so many restaurants have so much red decor is because the color red simulates our appetites?

  15. Luckily the assam laksa was ready for your breakfast then! You could perhaps ask for chopped chili padi to make it spicier.

I've been under CMCO a month and now it's another month. I mostly miss lepaking in malls and eating out as a family - can't take the kids with the 2-pax per car limit.

    1. Order food delivery or take away to eat in the house together with the kids.

    2. Somehow what's available for delivery aren't too attractive. The kids would just want fast food if they're asked to choose.

    3. So true, most kids today are only interested in fast food.
