Shredded Chicken & Prawn Noodle Soup & Home Cooked Yam Rice

We haven't been to Restoran Thean Chun for a long, long time because it was always crowd before the Covid-19 movement control order was enforced. Customers will be standing behind those already seated to finish their food so that they could occupy the table.

When we were there yesterday with our friends, it was suppose to be the peak lunch hours. Surprisingly, we could easily get a table for 4 people.
We ordered egg custards served with plain water.
We ordered 4 bowls of kai si hor fun or shredded chicken and prawn noodle.
And a plate of chee cheong fun or steamed rice roll for us to share.
~~~~~
Having friends over for simple home cooked dinner.
Our friend cooked the above dish.
Main ingredients: Crispy pork lard, green chilies, onions, taucu or fermented soy beans.
I sauteed home grown snake long beans with roast pork.
I made yam rice for my friends to taste.
Ingredients: rice, yam cubes, dried prawns, dried shiitake mushrooms, roast pork, chopped onions and garlic, oyster and soy sauce, salt to taste, sesame oil and cooking oil.
Sambal belacan paste condiment - blessing from my friend.
 Best condiment for the yam rice.
~~~~~
From my garden
Cockscomb flowers and cactus plant.
 First attempt growing carrot. Hoping to harvest some carrots.
Can you spot the little white butterfly or moth with black spots?
It was fluttering from leaf to leaf. I have to quickly take these snapshots before it fluttered off again.

Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow,
an undeserved curse will not land on its intended victim.

Changing Sky & Yummy Breakfast, Lunch And Home Cooked Dinner

On this particular morning, we didn't go for our morning walk because when I woke up it was drizzling. We waited for the drizzling to stop before we went out for our breakfast.
 Morning sun peeping through the dark cloud - 7: 20 am.
When the drizzling stopped, I went out to open the gate.
 A few minutes later (7:25 am) the sky brightened up and surprised us with this rainbow.
 My Bauhinia Kockiana orange blooms and papaya tree on the left.
The papaya tree is no longer there now.
 After a short display of the rainbow, the sky darkened - 7:31 am.
 The dark clouds appeared and disappeared within a few minutes.
Time to go looking for our breakfast.
 We decided to have breakfast nearer to home. We ordered this yummy-licious fish noodles. So far, this is the best fish noodle I have tasted so far. I am sure, those who have tasted this will agree with me. You can't get the same taste elsewhere.
 Came back from breakfast and quickly harvested the above from my garden.
 Once the bitter gourd or melon turns white from light green, it is time to harvest before it starts to ripen. This white melon is more crunchy and has only a slight taste of bitterness compared to the common green ones.
For lunch, I ordered this baked egg custard for my myself. It was served with a glass of ice water.

I cooked the following dishes for dinner that evening.
 Our favourite stinky beans with sambal dried prawns. Actually, this alone will be enough for us but I just want to taste my freshly harvested angled luffa.
I cooked the angled luffa with the following ingredients: garlic, dried prawns, carrot, black fungus or cloud ear fungus, egg, and etc.
So happy to see the bigger than palm size single petal yellow hibiscus blooming in my garden.

a sad face means a breaking heart.

Crispy Skin And Juicy Roasted Pork At Taman Pertama, Ipoh

If you are looking for crispy skin and juicy roasted pork, I will recommend that you try the roasted pork at Restoran First Kwong Chow in First Garden (Taman Pertama), Ipoh. I have tried roasted pork from a few places around Ipoh and personally, I find this roasted pork in First Garden one of the best in Ipoh. I wouldn't dare say it is the best because it is up to individual's taste.

Most of our friends from outstation or from other parts of Ipoh will request for this roasted pork whenever they come to First Garden. If the visitors come at the right time, we will usually recommend this roasted pork to them.

Dearly loved friends, don't always believe everything you hear
just because someone says it is a message from God:
test it first to see if it really is.
For there are many false teachers around...
