On this particular morning, I walked out to the side garden to check on the yellow cucumber plant as hubby has told me that one of the yellow cucumber is due for harvest. I was surprised to see the size of the yellow cucumber. I told hubby to wait 1 to 2 more days to harvest the yellow cucumber. There are altogether 3 yellow cucumbers hanging from the vine.

Big Yellow Cucumber Harvested From My Garden
Starting from this smallest out of the 3 yellow cucumbers.
This is the 2nd largest of the 3 yellow cucumbers.
And this is the largest and due for harvest.
Looking forward to cook soup with this yellow cucumber.
And the snake beans are also due for harvest. I like snake beans cooked with garlic and salt and add water to cook till the beans are soft.
These were harvested a few days later.

I, Jesus,
have sent my angel to you to tell the churches all these things.
I am both David's Root and his Descendant.
I am the bright Morning Star.
The Spirit and the bride say, 'Come.'
Let each one who hears them say the same, 'Come.'
Let the thirsty one come - anyone who wants to;
let him come and drink the Water of Life without charge.

Edibles Growing In My Garden
These days, I have not been out for foodie hunt so today, I will share about the edibles growing in my garden.
Bitter Lettuce.
I got the seeds from a friend.
From the first sowing of seeds, only 2 seedlings sprouted successfully.
I thought the success rate was low, so I sowed all the remaining seeds and these sprouted. These are now grown in the veggie patch in front of my house next to my neighbour's.
Corn plants in the front veggie patch.
I have 4 yam beans growing in black plastic bags in the front garden. Hope there is something for me to harvest in the near future.
Skinny cauliflower plants.
Green brinjals.
Chili plants are still fruiting.
Snake long beans seedlings newly transferred to these big pots.

We found the following mural during our short trip to Penang in 2022.
Children flying kites.
This mural was painted on the side wall of a corner shop.

Curry Noodle, Coconut Jam & Glutinous Rice Wine Chicken Soup
The following sky shots were taken in July before the rainy season started.
Sunrise at 6:57am.
7:05am
7:10am
7:17am
Golden sunrise at 7:26am.
Clear blue sky on the reverse side.
~~~~~
We drove out to town to buy breakfast.
Curry noodles and fried ingredients.
Dry curry noodle for hubby and curry soup version for me.
Hubby doesn't like mint leaves, so I had all the mint leaves.
Curry soup noodle with roast pork and bbq pork.
These fried ingredients were made by the boss and his wife.
Fresh and tasty.
Saw bottles of freshly made coconut jam (kaya) on a table. I bought one bottle as I am too lazy to make kaya these days.
~~~~~
Home cooked dinner.
Chicken with home made glutinous rice wine.
I added wood fungus, red dates, gojiberries, and lots of pounded ginger.
Sauteed home grown snake beans with garlic and salt.
Red Huernia Oculata from my garden.
This is how the plant or succulent looks like. It grows easily. Just break off 1 section and lay it on the soil surface for it to root.
And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts,
living within you as you trust in him.
May your roots go down deep into the soil of God's marvelous love.

Mee Jawa, Yam Bean Fritters & Steamed Chicken
This was a Wednesday, 2 weeks ago. It was another day with gloomy sky.
Sunrise at 7:45am.
For breakfast, hubby went out to town to buy mee jawa.
I thought of buying fried noodle but the stall was closed.
So, we drove back to our own place to buy my favourite - yam bean fritters. I bought 4 pieces at 90 cents per piece.
We also bought the above - 3 pieces for RM5.
From top clockwise: siew pau, curry puff and yam puff.
We shared the above for lunch. I cut everything into halves.

We had the above for breakfast and lunch.

Home cooked dinner.
Steamed free range chicken (half a chicken) with tong kuai slices, ginger slices, red dates, and goji berries. This time I forgot to add in home made glutinous rice wine.
Steamed home grown green brinjals and purple brinjals, sprinkled with garlic oil, oyster and soy sauce.
Steamed home grown snake beans and ladies' fingers, drizzled with garlic oil, oyster and soy sauce.
I didn't want any rice, so I cooked 1 packet of Indomie instant noodle for hubby. Add a spoonful of spicy dried shrimp chili to the noodle.
The above 2 big plates of vegetables were the reason why I didn't want any rice.
~~~~~
From my garden.
I was watering my plants when I spotted these big grasshoppers.
One was piggybacking on the other.
These 2 were big grasshoppers. They weren't there when I went to check in the evening. They were probably paying a visit to my garden
Dear brothers, you are people who do not belong to this world.
You are like visitors who are on a journey.
I beg you, do not do the things your body wants to do.
Those things fight against your soul.
Steamed Curry Buns, Herbal Chicken Soup & Sauteed Snake Beans
Bored with the recent dull and gray sky of rainy days, I went through the archive and found the following sky shots which were taken on the last day of June, 2021.
On this Wednesday morning, we didn't buy anything for breakfast because we had 4 steamed buns in our fridge which our neighbour bought for us.
While the buns were steaming in the steamer, I make milo for hubby and Bru coffee for myself.
Soft and fluffy steamed buns with curry chicken and potato as filling.
~~~~~
From my garden.
Peace lily bud.
White spathe and beige spadix.
From white and beige, it slowly turned to light green.
It will remain like this before it dries up.
~~~~~
Home cooked dinner.
Herbal Chicken soup.
Free range chicken with Chinese dried herb (yuk chuk), red dates and goji berries.
Sauteed French beans and home grown snake beans with garlic, dried shrimp and chilies.
This was our dinner with steamed rice on a rainy evening.
Peace Lily plants grown in a pot.
My son, do not forget my teaching,
but keep my commands in your heart,
for they will prolong your life many years
and bring you peace and prosperity.
