Prawn Noodles, Garlic Butter Prawns & Char Choy Soup

Our younger son came home to visit the last weekend of November, one weekend after the elder son visited. This was last Friday of November and younger son will only be reaching home after lunch.

After morning walk, we drove to Menglembu new township for prawn noodles. We ordered a cup of kopi-C kosong to share.
Back home in my garden.
The green brinjals seem to like the rainy season.
The only problem is keeping a look out for the mealy bugs that like to attack the brinjal plants.
~~~~~
Simple lunch in Falim.
We ordered a bowl of porridge, red bean tong sui (sweet porridge) and some fried fritters for 2 people.
2 pieces of fried yam bean fritters and 2 pieces of enoki mushroom fritters.
~~~~~
Home cooked dinner for 3 people.
Fried garlic butter prawns.
Younger son requested for prawns minus the shells.
Blanched lettuce, drizzled with garlic oil, oyster and soy sauce.
Soup
Ingredients used: Salted Sichuan vegetable (char choy), tomatoes, carrots and 1 small kampung chicken (free range chicken).

A friend sent me the following bird photos.
Bird photos credited to BKC.
Can someone help confirm the identify of this bird?
Is this an egret?
This bird has been walking on the fence surrounding my friend's house. Inspecting the nice surrounding and probably wanting to make it home here.
Thank you, friend for sharing the photos.

No, I don't need your sacrifices of flesh and blood.
What I want from you is your true thanks;
I want your promises fulfilled.
I want you to trust me in your times of trouble,
so I can rescue you and you can give me glory.

Cockscomb Flowers & Golden Sunset

This was about a week ago. While hubby went out to buy fried noodle (koay teow & yellow noodle), I stayed home to make coffee.

Fried noodle with egg and prawns for hubby while I ate toast with marmalade.
That morning, the fried noodle boss was in good mood. He put in 6 big prawns for hubby and charged him RM5.50 only.
Cockscomb flowers in front of my house.
These are all self-propagated.
When the flowers get big and heavy, I have to find ways to support the plants from bending over.
Some of the seeds have started to fall and small seedlings are already growing under these big plants.
I went out to buy some grocery and went to this stall to buy 4 pieces of yam bean fritters for lunch.
Saw a stall selling longkong, duku, etc. Couldn't resist, went to check.
Longkong sold for RM7 per kg.
The above is RM10. There were fresh and not so sweet.
After keeping for 1 day, they tasted so much sweeter.
For dinner, I heated up another portion of stewed duck with lotus root. I cooked home grown angled luffa and okra with dried shrimp and egg. By the time I washed up after dinner, it was about 7pm.
Golden sunset at 7:05pm
Very seldom we get to see such beautiful golden sunset.
We even have golden clouds.
The reverse side was totally different.
Looks like it might rain later in the night.

Praise the Lord, O heavens! Praise him from the skies!
Praise him, all his angels, all the armies of heaven.
Praise him, sun and moon and all you twinkling stars.
Praise him, skies above. Praise him, vapors high above the clouds.
Let everything he has made give praise to him.
For he issued his command, and they came into being;
he established them forever and forever.
His orders will never be revoked.

Pan Mee, Loh Mee & Spicy, Sour Mustard Green

Have been raining the last few days. Gloomy sky most of the days.

Morning sky at 7:15am
On the reverse side, clear view of Kledang Hill.
Can you see the communication towers on the hill?

From here, we crossed the road to the right to where the shops are to buy breakfast.
2 pieces of tapioca cake (left)
Steamed cake or "angku" kuih.
Green is with grated coconut filling, red is with red bean paste and the yellow is with bean paste.
Next, we walked over to another shop.
To buy 4 pieces of my favourite yam bean (sengkuang) fritters.
~~~~~
Our neighbour bought lunch for us.
And 1 set of Chili Pan mee served with Amaranth spinach soup.
Dry version pan mee served with fragrant spicy chili.
1 set of Loh Mee with thick gravy.
Noodle and gravy were placed separately.
Pour the loh mee gravy over the noodle.
Dark rice vinegar was added to the noodle.
Both the noodle portions were big.
~~~~~
Spicy and Sour Mustard Green (kai choy).
I cooked spicy and sour mustard green with 1 roast pork leg for dinner.
After a heavy lunch, we didn't want any rice and just enjoy the appetizing dish by itself.

Do not let any part of your bodies become tools of wickedness,
to be used for sinning; but give yourselves completely
to God - every part of you - for you are back from death
and you want to be tools in the hands of God,
to be used for his good purposes.

Mee Jawa, Yam Bean Fritters & Steamed Chicken

This was a Wednesday, 2 weeks ago. It was another day with gloomy sky.

Sunrise at 7:45am.
For breakfast, hubby went out to town to buy mee jawa.
I thought of buying fried noodle but the stall was closed.
So, we drove back to our own place to buy my favourite - yam bean fritters. I bought 4 pieces at 90 cents per piece.
We also bought the above - 3 pieces for RM5.
From top clockwise: siew pau, curry puff and yam puff.
We shared the above for lunch. I cut everything into halves.
From top clockwise: yam puff, siew pau & curry puff.
We had the above for breakfast and lunch.
~~~~~
Home cooked dinner.
Steamed free range chicken (half a chicken) with tong kuai slices, ginger slices, red dates, and goji berries. This time I forgot to add in home made glutinous rice wine.
Steamed home grown green brinjals and purple brinjals, sprinkled with garlic oil, oyster and soy sauce.
Steamed home grown snake beans and ladies' fingers, drizzled with garlic oil, oyster and soy sauce.
I didn't want any rice, so I cooked 1 packet of Indomie instant noodle for hubby. Add a spoonful of spicy dried shrimp chili to the noodle.
The above 2 big plates of vegetables were the reason why I didn't want any rice.
~~~~~
From my garden.
I was watering my plants when I spotted these big grasshoppers.
One was piggybacking on the other.
These 2 were big grasshoppers. They weren't there when I went to check in the evening. They were probably paying a visit to my garden

Dear brothers, you are people who do not belong to this world.
You are like visitors who are on a journey.
I beg you, do not do the things your body wants to do.
Those things fight against your soul.
