Shredded Chicken Noodle (Kai Si Hor Fun) & Roast Pork

The last time we went for our favourite shredded chicken noodle aka kai si hor fun at Restoran Pulau Sembilan, we found that a new person has taken over the stall and we didn't know where the previous one has shifted to. Then one evening while we were having dinner at a nearby restaurant, one of the staff informed us of the new location.

One morning, we decided to check out the mentioned place for the kai si hor fun stall. Yes, the information given to us was correct and we can finally enjoy our favourite kai si hor fun again. Hubby ordered 2 bowls and was informed that we have to wait for half an hour.
While waiting, we ordered a cup of unsweetened coffee (kopi c kosong) and a yam puff from one of the stall to share.
Yam puff is one of my favourite dim sum item.
We also ordered RM10 roast pork from another stall.
Finally, the kai si hor fun reached our table.
We need to loosen and stir the flat rice noodle (koay teow) to mix with the soup. This time the boss gave more soup than usual.
Very soon, the son will be taking over the business from his father.
If you are also a fan of this noodle, this is the new place at the junction where Jalan Prince and Jalan Pasir Pinji meets.
Opposite, there is another new eatery.

Assorted Pastries, Hokkien Fried Fat Noodle & Steamed Pork Ribs

This is another day with gloomy sky. As long as it is drizzling, we can still go for our walk.

A glimpse of the sunrise at 7:30am.
On the way back, we made a detour to the nearby shops to buy the above items for breakfast.
Top row: 2 yam puffs and 1 curry puff, 3 items for RM5.
Bottow row: 2 siew pau and 1 egg tart, 3 items for RM5.
Fried flaky bbq pau and hum cheem peang.
The bbq pork filling of the fried flaky siew pau is nice but the skin is too thick.
Hubby bought this and he couldn't remember how much he paid for it.
For lunch, hubby went out to buy Hokkien fried fat noodle for us to share.
~~~~~
Home cooked dinner.
Steamed pork ribs with preserved black beans.
Blanched home grown Malabar Spinach, drizzled with garlic oil, oyster and soy sauce.
Our neighbour bought for us stewed fish head. To heat up for dinner, I steamed it and added in the leftover roast pork I had in the fridge. This was more for me because hubby is not a fan of fish head.
I kept aside half of the steamed pork rib for next day.
I saw this unusual white butterfly fluttering on the tarmac road on our morning walk.
This is a mango loving dog. My friend recently took in a stray dog and it surprised her to see this dog enjoying a ripe mango that had fallen from the tree in her garden.
My friend shared this short video of her adopted dog enjoying the mango.
So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves.
Instead, you received God's Spirit when he adopted you
as his own children. Now we call him, "Abba, Father."
Mee Jawa, Yam Bean Fritters & Steamed Chicken
This was a Wednesday, 2 weeks ago. It was another day with gloomy sky.
Sunrise at 7:45am.
For breakfast, hubby went out to town to buy mee jawa.
I thought of buying fried noodle but the stall was closed.
So, we drove back to our own place to buy my favourite - yam bean fritters. I bought 4 pieces at 90 cents per piece.
We also bought the above - 3 pieces for RM5.
From top clockwise: siew pau, curry puff and yam puff.
We shared the above for lunch. I cut everything into halves.
From top clockwise: yam puff, siew pau & curry puff.
We had the above for breakfast and lunch.
~~~~~
Home cooked dinner.
Steamed free range chicken (half a chicken) with tong kuai slices, ginger slices, red dates, and goji berries. This time I forgot to add in home made glutinous rice wine.
Steamed home grown green brinjals and purple brinjals, sprinkled with garlic oil, oyster and soy sauce.
Steamed home grown snake beans and ladies' fingers, drizzled with garlic oil, oyster and soy sauce.
I didn't want any rice, so I cooked 1 packet of Indomie instant noodle for hubby. Add a spoonful of spicy dried shrimp chili to the noodle.
The above 2 big plates of vegetables were the reason why I didn't want any rice.
~~~~~
From my garden.
I was watering my plants when I spotted these big grasshoppers.
One was piggybacking on the other.
These 2 were big grasshoppers. They weren't there when I went to check in the evening. They were probably paying a visit to my garden
Dear brothers, you are people who do not belong to this world.
You are like visitors who are on a journey.
I beg you, do not do the things your body wants to do.
Those things fight against your soul.
Nasi Lemak, Taro Puffs & Chicken With Pineapple
This was Monday, 4th day MCO 2.0. We did our morning walk and stop to buy 2 packets of nasi lemak from one the shops. Then we walked over to pass one packet of nasi lemak to our friend. While there, hubby bought iced black coffee (unsweetened) to takeaway.
Cheap and tasty Nasi Lemak @ RM1.50
Besides the rice, there is spicy sambal, 2 fried anchovies, fried peanuts, a small wedge of hard boiled egg, and a small piece of cucumber.
No nasi lemak for me. I prefer to take baby oats with pine nuts and cranberries.
Our breakfast.
Hubby had his iced black coffee, and I had Nescafe Gold.
Taro puffs for our lunch.
Our friend dropped by our house to pass us the taro puffs on her way home the previous night after she closed her stall.
~~~~~
Home cooked dinner.
I had half a pineapple in my fridge. It was sour so I decided to use it to cook a dish for dinner.
Chicken breast meat with pineapple - sweet, sourish and spicy.
Blanched broccoli, drizzled with garlic oil and soy sauce.
Appetizing dinner for 2 people.
Evening sky at 6:55pm
I took this sky shot when I took the garbage out after dinner.

In a wealthy home there are dishes made of gold and
silver as well as some made from wood and clay.
The expensive dishes are used for guests,
and the cheap ones are used in the kitchen or to put garbage in.
If you stay away from sin you will be like one of these dishes
made of purest gold - the very best in the house - so that
Christ himself can use you for his highest purposes.

Post Christmas Day: Lunch, Snack & Dinner

We didn't go for morning walk the day after Christmas. Instead, we drove out to town for breakfast.

Sunrise at 7:20am
Morning sky at 7:45am.
From the look of the sky, rain was expected later in the morning.
~~~~~
We had leftover for lunch.
I steamed 4 baby corns (1 eaten by hubby before I took the snapshot), and I reheated the yam puffs (given by a friend) and 2 croissants (bought from Aeon Big Falim) for lunch. Happy to clear all the above items from my fridge.
I made Konnyaku jelly with cut orange because I couldn't find other fruits in my fridge.
My neighbour gave me a big papaya, cut half and kept the other half in the fridge. We had the above sweet treats for our afternoon snack.
~~~~~
I had a packet of stinky beans and some remaining sambal dried prawns which I need to clear from my fridge.
I cooked a plate of stinky beans with sambal dried prawns (bought from Penang). This time I cut the big stinky beans into quarters which makes it easier for us to bite.
Dinner for 2 people: Stinky beans with steamed rice.
I reheated the leftover beef with ginger and spring onions which I almost forgot about it.
We used to pass by this corner house on our morning walk. We are attracted to these round shaped cockscomb flowers planted by the roadside. I had to stop to take a snapshot of the flowers before continuing our walk home.

And when the green shoot comes up out of the seed,
it is very different from the seed you first planted.
For all you put into the ground is a dry little seed of wheat
or whatever it is you are planting,
then God gives it a beautiful new body-
just the kind he wants it to have;
a different kind of plant grows from each kind of seed.
