Home Cooked Teochew Porridge For Dinner

This was on a Wednesday. This was the morning sky that greeted us.

Sunrise at 7:18am
 Hubby stopped to order 2 sets of spicy economy noodle with sambal chicken drumsticks at the Indian roadside stall to be collected on the way back.
2 sets at RM6 per set.
We also bought 2 sponge cakes at RM8 each (old price was RM6).
The excuse for the RM2 increase was the price of eggs has gone up.
Original flavour on the left and pandan flavour on the right.
I gave the original flavour to my neighbour.
We had sponge cake for lunch.
~~~~~
Home cooked dinner.
Fried fish.
We refer to this as "tofu fish". I don't know what it is in English.
Hubby is not a fan of fish, so I added fried back smoked bacon and 2 eggs.
Sauteed home grown snake beans with dried shrimps.
Our dinner with plain rice porridge on a hot and sweating evening.
I found this butterfly on the louvered window one evening. Due to the lighting, I couldn't get a clear shot of the butterfly.
After these snapshots, I opened the louvered windows to allow it to fly out.
Baby grasshopper in my garden.
For you are still only baby Christians,
controlled by your own desires, not God's.
When you are jealous of one another and
divide up into quarreling groups,
 doesn't that prove you are still babies, wanting your own way?
In fact, you are acting like people who don't belong to the Lord at all.
Dim Sum Breakfast & Arrow Root With Peanut Soup For Dinner
 This was the 2nd Thursday of July.
Sunrise at 7am.
Setting out for our morning walk.
This bird on the tip of the branch (opposite my house) was happily and loudly chirping away.
Sunrise at 7:03am
Sunrise at 7:10am
~~~~~
We bought breakfast from the Dim Sum Restaurant.
Do you think we can finish all the above items?
First, we started on the glutinous rice wrapped in lotus leaf.
Next, we ate the "lam yee" pau or steamed bun with pork belly.
Between these 2 above, we chose one.
We chose the yam puff. It is only nice to eat when the outer skin is still crispy.
We kept the above 2 items for lunch.
Steamed bun (san yuk pau) and chicken pie (kai soh).
Pretty chive flower from my garden.

Home cooked dinner
Soup: Arrowroot, peanut, carrot, red dates, goji berries and pork rib.
Stir fried broccoli and carrot with garlic and salt.
Fried egg for hubby and tuna with chili for me.
We accidentally bought this tuna with chili.
 Kept the leftover to make sandwich for next day's breakfast.

In every battle you will need faith as your shield
to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan.
And you will need the helmet of salvation
and the sword of the Spirit - which is the Word of God.

Western Style Breakfast & 5 Treasures Rice Porridge For Dinner

This is 4th of June, last day of EMCO for Ipoh. We are eagerly looking forward to the 5th of June to resume our morning walk.

For a change, we had Western style breakfast.
1 fried egg, baked beans, 2 pieces of bread and a hot drink.
~~~~~
5 Treasures Rice Porridge for dinner.
Ingredients used: Roast pork with bones, salted eggs, century eggs, chopped ginger and pickled lettuce.
Blanched home grown Brazilian Spinach, drizzled with garlic oil, oyster and soy sauce.
Hubby and my neighbour said that this is the best porridge they have ever tasted.
This is one of the 3 pots of Purple Hearts in my garden.
I caught sight of this bee sucking nectar from the flower.
Even though I was holding my hand phone near, it didn't disturb the bee.
It was too busy concentrating on what it was doing.
After taking these snapshots, the bees was still busy at work on that flower.
We are merely moving shadows,
and all our busy rushing ends in nothing.
We heap up wealth, not knowing who will spend it.
Your throne is founded on two strong pillars -
Mercy and Truth walk before you as your attendants.
Blessed are those who hear the joyful blast of the trumpet,
for they shall walk in the light of your presence.
Stewed Chicken Feet With Shiitake Mushroom & Cloud Ears Fungus
Today is 10th day MCO. I had a good sleep and woke up early this morning at about 7:00 am. First thing on my mind after washing up was to go out to check whether there is a beautiful sunrise waiting for me.
Sunrise @ 7:35 am.
Last week hubby's sister called to inform us that she will be forwarding a package for our family through the courier service. Thank God for her thoughtfulness and concern. Upon receiving the order, she quickly forwarded to us.
We received this package yesterday morning.
Very timely arrival, we need this urgently because we need to wear mask before entering stores to buy our provision and hand sanitizer to disinfect our hands after holding the shopping cart, etc. Will be forwarding these items to my sons as supply is limited everywhere. Hope these will last until MCO is over.
A bottle of hand sanitizer abt 600 ml.
2 packs of facial masks and 6 nos. of small sized hand sanitizer.
These will come in very useful to keep us safe.
The day before yesterday, I bought 2 pairs of rubber gloves and a box of disposal plastic gloves from the local mini mart. These will come in useful when we need to go out to get our essentials and when filling up of petrol. For now, we are staying home and keeping ourselves occupied. My friend also shared with me about disinfectant cleaning services that are becoming more popular nowadays due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
8th day MCO (Wed)
Stewed chicken feet
I stewed chicken feet with dried shiitake mushrooms and dried cloud ear fungus for 2 meals. I kept the 2nd portion for next day's dinner.
Blanched home grown baby choy sum (green veggie), drizzled with olive oil and soy sauce.
This was our dinner on the 8th day MCO.
9th day MCO (Thurs)
These Malabar Spinach getting overcrowded.
I harvested Malabar Spinach, 2 long beans and 2 chilies from my garden.
2nd portion of stewed chicken feet.
Blanched home grown Malabar Spinach, drizzled with olive oil and soy sauce.
Now why I go and fry these 2 eggs?
The stewed chicken feet and vegetable were more than enough for us.
This was our dinner on the 9th day MCO.
Maybe I was hungry because I skipped lunch. We finished everything except for some left over stewed chicken feet which I kept for hubby's next day simple lunch.
Your words are what sustain me; they are food to my hungry soul.
They bring joy to my sorrowing heart and delight me.
How proud I am to bear your name, O Lord.
