Braised Fall Off The Bones Pork Ribs & Blanched Chinese Cabbage

We were ready to start our morning walk and were out of our house by 7:10am.

Sunrise at 7:14am.

Hubby's friend recommended a place for breakfast. We found the placed closed for that day so we ended in another nearby coffee shop for breakfast.
Hubby ordered herbal duck noodle in soup.
I took a walk around to look at all the stalls and ended up ordering the above fried mung bean noodle. This was a nice and decent breakfast.
I harvested another batch of home grown Chinese cabbage for dinner.
Blanched home grown Chinese cabbage and topped with crunchy chili oil and soy sauce.
Braised fall off the bones pork ribs using pressure cooker.
This was my first time cooking this and this was delicious.
This was our dinner with steamed brown rice.

White periwinkles.
Pink or purplish periwinkles.
Deep pink or purple periwinkles growing out from the same pot as the mother-in-law tongue plant.

when he died on the cross so that we can be finished with sin
and live a good life from now on.
For his wounds have healed ours!

Herbal Duck Wonton Noodle & Hand Torn Pan Mee

There has been no rain for the past week. Looks like the hot and humid days are back until the next monsoon season. Hopefully by end of this month or beginning of next month we will get some rain.

Sunrise at 7:20am.
This type of sun means the day will be hot.
My plants will be withering by midday.
Time to temporary hold back the sowing of seeds until the rain returns.
7:25am.

After morning walk, hubby and I drove out to buy breakfast. The coffee shop allows dine-in and the tables are well spaced out and some of the tables were along the 5 foot way. We decided to dine-in and choose one of the table along the 5 foot way.
Hubby ordered herbal duck wonton noodle.
We have been eating this noodle since my working days until now.
I ordered pan mee with hand torn noodle.
I enjoyed my breakfast very much.
Unsweetened black coffee for hubby.
Unsweetened coffee with evaporated milk (kopi-C) for me.
The coffee here is one of the best in town.
After leaving, I bought the above Nyonya kuih for our lunch.
Glutinous rice with kaya and glutinous rice with spicy dried shrimp.
Sunset Bells from my garden.
~~~~~
Our first dine-in dinner at a non air-con restaurant. The dishes available were limited and we ended choosing the following.
Sweet potato leaves with sambal dried shrimp paste.
Fragrant fried pork rib "foh yeem pai kuat".
Sweet sour black pomfret.
Nice and reasonably priced dinner that costs about RM46.20 for 4 people, including rice and hot water. We brought along our own Chinese tea.
Yes, everything else is worthless when compared
with the priceless gain of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.
I have put aside all else,
counting it worth less than nothing,
in order that I can have Christ.
Our Last Wonton Noodle Breakfast At Jalan Simpang, Jelapang
Due to the bad haze condition, we cancelled our early morning walk. Since we haven't been to Jelapang village for the wonton noodles, we decided to have breakfast there. And that was when we were informed by the boss that they are stopping their noodle business for good from Sunday, 15th September, 2019. We are going to miss their wonton dumplings and herbal duck soup.
 It was a Saturday of a long weekend, with Monday being a holiday to celebrate Malaysia Day. The place was crowded. We have to share the table with another couple who were just finishing their breakfast.
 We ordered 2 plates of wonton noodles, served with minced pork.
I always enjoy my wonton noodles with these pickled green chilies.
 2 bowls of wonton dumplings with 4 dumplings in a bowl.
Their wonton dumplings were filled with generous portion of minced pork and a whole prawn.
 We usually ordered 1 portion of this herbal duck soup to share.
Knowing that they are closing for good, we ordered 2 portions of soup.
We ended up enjoying our heavy breakfast to the maximum.
Anxious hearts are very heavy,
but a word of encouragement does wonders!
Sunday's Mish Mash 1/2018
Woke up early on a Sunday morning. For breakfast, we had wonton noodles, wonton dumplings and herbal duck soup in Jelapang and then we attended church worship service.
 A hearty breakfast on a cool Sunday morning.
 I saw a different kind of weed growing in my garden.
It has tiny pink flowers. Is this a weed or a herb?
 I have shared this picture before but this time we were seated where I could get a good snapshot of this wall painting in the coffee shop.
 We were at a phone shop to top up for my hand phone.
 I like this direction sign at a shopping mall.
Grab a bag to travel.
 My friend and I came to this small cake shop to get some egg tarts.
These were freshly baked from the oven.
 Pastry for the egg tarts.
One of the high rise building in Ipoh old town.
Here are my directions: Pray much for others;
plead for God's mercy upoh them;
give thanks for all He is going to do for them.
Pray in this way for kings and
all others who are in authority over us,
or as in places of high responsibility,
so that we can live in peace and quietness,
spending our time in godly living
and thinking much about the Lord.
Herbal Duck Soup & Wanton Noodle @ Jelapang, Perak
It has been quite some time we have not been to Jelapang for our breakfast. Last Saturday morning, we went back to the coffee shop at Jalan Simpang, Jelapang for our breakfast. Being a Saturday morning, the place was crowded but we managed to get a small table.
We can only get to taste this Herbal Duck Soup on Saturdays and Sundays. This is the soup that draws us back to this place MYR 6 (approx. 1.70 USD).
A normal portion of 4 wantons (prawn and minced pork). So far this is the place that serves the biggest sized wanton.
A double portion of 8 wantons (couldn't remember the price).
This is a single portion noodle, dry version with soy sauce and minced meat gravy. Sometimes I will order green noodle, which is supposed to be spinach noodle. 1 single portion of noodle with wanton MYR 4 (approx. 1.13 USD).
Taking a look inside the wanton - prawn and minced meat.
This is a must, pickled crunchy sweet sour green chilies to go with the noodles. One plate not enough for me, I will take my hubby's share.
It looks more like a double-storey village house converted into a coffee shop. It has only one stall, and that's the stall selling wanton noodle.
When driving from Ipoh, Jalan Simpang is on the left side as we enter Jelapang town, Jalan Simpang is after Jalan Sekolah on the same left side.
Just as we turn into Jalan Simpang, this coffee shop will be on our right side. The lane on its right leads to the market, which is a short walk from this place.
Humble yourselves before the LORD, and He will lift you up.
