Breakfast At Nam Heong Old Town White Coffee Shop, Ipoh.

Since I retired from work about 2 years ago, I seldom take breakfast in Ipoh old town. The main reasons being traffic congestion and parking problem. Last Thursday, we finished our walking exercise quite early and I suggested that we had breakfast in old town. No parking problem because the time was about 7.30 am and the traffic was light.
Penang Hokkien Mee or Prawn noodles for hubby. (Yellow noodle & rice vermicelli with pork & prawn slices, a quarter hard boiled egg, bean sprouts, green water spinach (kangkong) & etc.
Curry noodle for me. (Yellow noodle with bean sprout, chicken meat strips, bbq pork slices, prawn slices, mint leaves, lime juice & etc. in spicy soup.)
Deep fried prawn roll, century egg roll & wanton dumpling served with mayonnaise & chili sauce.
I took a pic of the interior of coffee shop.
We both order iced black coffee since it was a very hot morning.
This painting was not there the last time I was here.

A big Bombay onion & a eh ....."snow man"?
Or a "brown potato man" with a baby potato....
Painted by our local artist Eric Lai.
This little potato is not ashamed to say that, "I am brown colour".

And as we live with Christ,
our love grows more perfect and complete;
so we will not be ashamed and embarrassed at the day of judgment,
but can face him with confidence and joy
because he loves us and we love him too.

  2. Don't you think breakfast is the one meal of the day which has the biggest differences all round the world? I have a bowl of cold cereal, yours looks a much better idea, I'm sure you're not reaching for a coffee and a biscuit at 11am!!!
Have a happy week and thank you for joining me and the comments on my Wander Victoria posts last week :)

  5. I wonder what inspired the local artist to draw an onion and two potatoes.

    1. Ha ha Mun, then you will have to interview the artist. I only know that onions and potatoes are very important ingredients in our cooking. Happy Sunday!

  20. Food definitely look yummy. Occasionally I would indulge prawn noodle, curry noodle for my weekend brunch at coffee shops or hawker centre. Plus kopi-O. That painting on wall is pretty creative ^-^! Nice sharing, Nancy.
