Dinner At Shun Min Restaurant, Jalan Pasir Pinji, Ipoh.

A friend has been telling us about this restaurant and suggested that we can go and try the food there when we are free. So 2 weeks ago, we were free to have dinner together.
Hubby and I went to pick up our friend from her house.
All along the way, I have been watching the sky. The setting sun was hidden by the cloud.
Then I was reminded of the saying about behind every dark cloud there is a silver lining.
The dark cloud represents our unpleasant or difficult time and the silver lining represents hope in something good. Romans 8:28 (TLB) - And we know that all that happens to us is working for our good if we love God and are fitting into His plans.
Slowly more light was shining from behind the cloud.
More light peeking through the cloud.
John 1:5 (NIV)
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
Thanks to our friend, we found the restaurant along Jalan Pasir Pinji.
We were among the early birds and hungry ones too!
Stewed pork trotters - we finished all and almost cleared the gravy too.
Boiled old cucumber with pork rib soup - well cooked and flavourful.
Deep fried mantis prawn cooked with dried chilis and onions.
The taste was not quite to our liking.
Crunchy blanched iceberg lettuce with deep fried chopped garlic & oil.
Overall, the 3 of us had a very satisfying dinner
for the total cost of RM 39.10 (approx. 10.02 USD).

Linking to Skywatch Friday.

  9. The food as always looks delighful.

Origin of clouds and sliver lining.

Every cloud has a silver lining John Milton coined the phrase 'silver lining' in Comus: A Mask Presented at Ludlow Castle, 1634

I see ye visibly, and now believe
That he, the Supreme Good, to whom all things ill
Are but as slavish officers of vengeance,
Would send a glistering guardian, if need were
To keep my life and honour unassailed.
Was I deceived, or did a sable cloud
Turn forth her silver lining on the night?
I did not err; there does a sable cloud
Turn forth her silver lining on the night,
And casts a gleam over this tufted grove.

    Beautiful photos. Keep well Diane

    1. I don't know how to describe it, just that all 3 of us agreed on the same. Maybe it was not crispy, it was too soggy I think.

  13. Love the sky photos with silver lining. The sky makes such a nice tapestry upon which masterpieces are continually being painted every day. So beautiful.
Wow, the restaurant food is unbelievably cheap over there. Here in Canada, we always tip our the waiters and waitresses who serve our food at the table 15%. Do customers tip in your country?
    Have a great weekend Nancy.

    1. Thank you, Julia. There is a 6% goods & service tax on the total cost and normally customers seldom tip when eating in same eatery. Most customers will only tip when dining in the big restaurants. Have a great weekend too!

  22. Such beautiful sky shots! My best friend and I always loved clouds like that. We always talked about the silver lining, and also always quoted a couple lines from a poem...'Be still sad heart and cease repining, behind the clouds is the sun still shining.'
