Lunch With Golden Girls At Mandarin Kitchen, Menglembu, Ipoh.

Once again, it was time for the Golden Girls to meet again. We used to meet on Saturdays for breakfast but lately, we decided to meet for lunch on weekdays. We will all meet at our usual place, parked our cars there and the four of us will go in one car for lunch. After lunch, we will go to a shopping complex to buy whatever we needed and enjoy the air-con there. The days here are very hot and it is not good to be in the hot sun for too long.

For our Golden Girls' lunch, we decided to go where most of us have not been. The first time I ate in this restaurant was when my ex-colleagues gave me a farewell lunch for my retirement. And once when I came with my own family. Those days, they gave their customers discount vouchers. So this was my 3rd time here at Mandarin Kitchen Restaurant.
A friend recommended this pork rib dish, so we ordered to try.
Pork Rib in Mongolian sauce.
Someone wanted something crispy, so we ordered this.
Crispy, spicy salted Sotong/Squids.
Stir-fried rice flour cake noodle.
Stir-fried noodle with fish paste, prawns, etc.
Some of us found the dishes a bit on the salty side.
Cost of lunch for 4 people - MYR 56.00 (approx. 14 USD)
(inclusive of drinks & 6% GST)

New location: No. 11 & 13, Laluan Perusahaan Menglembu 2,
Kawasan Perusahaan Menglembu, Menglembu.

After lunch, we drove to the nearby Aeon Big Falim to do some shopping.
Took some snapshot of the wall painting on my way to the washroom.
Its about school boys running to their waiting school bus.
Great painting to cover the plain wall.

He (Jesus Christ) never needs the daily blood of animal sacrifices,
as other priests did, to cover over first their own sins and
then the sins of the people; for he finished all sacrifices,
once and for all, when he sacrificed himself on the cross.
(Hebrews 7:27, The Living Bible-TLB)

Sharing some flower photos taken during our holiday in Fraser's Hill.
Found this unique plant with hanging purple berries.
Can someone help with the identification of this plant?
01.09.2016 - Identification of plant is Medinilla (Medinilla magnifica).
 Are these berries or flowers?
Globe Amaranth (Gomphrena globosa)
Impatiens hawkeri plants (centre) surrounded by Globe Amaranth plants.
These look like Impatiens hawkeri flowers
Don't know the name of this plant.
Can someone help with the identification of this plant?

  21. Ah retirement. Don't know when I can retire but I don't think I will fully retire, mainly half retired because I will feel very boring doing nothing at home, so I will like to do some work

    1. We must have something to occupy ourselves when in retirement. I have many hobbies, so it not boring for me. You are still young, so no need to worry about retirement yet. Lol!

  22. So are they berries or flowers? Or both since berries came from flowers, right?

  23. I would need rice to go with the two dishes - pork ribs and squid dishes.
